Very tasty and affordable northern Thai and Burmese food

We came here after a morning exploring the outskirts of Chiang Mai.

The restaurant is simple and clean, quaint even. The staff was very friendly. There were locals eating, which is often a good sign.

The food itself was healthy and tasty. The prices were quite affordable too.

Highly recommended 👌

Diverse and delicious

A delicious, cheap, and diverse menu of Shan, Burmese, and Thai food. All of it vegetarian and most can be made vegan by requesting no eggs. I had to plates and ordered two more to go, it was so good! There's a whole other menu beyond the Shan menu I took photos of

Delicious authentic Thai food

My husband and I went there twice for dinner and everything we got both times was full of flavour. It’s very affordable at only 50-60 tbh for most dishes. There’s a good range to choose from and it’s easy to pick from the photos on the menu and you just write down your choices and bring it to the counter. Definitely recommend!! So delicious I wish I could eat here all the time!

Hmm it’s ok

First impression was nice. Many looking delicious food on the menu. We had to write food numbers on a paper she gave us. I had to write rice separately since there is no rice on the menu. And I wrote how spicy, what kind of noodles and broth. I wrote in English and Thai(using translation app).

Noodle soup came different broth and spicy. No rice came. Asked again and they were very confused. Just bringing empty plates and bowls. Used translator app, didn’t work. We showed her a photo of rice and then she finally understood. Strange. Haven’t had this before. Even old thai ladies understand when we say Khao(rice) or use translation app.

Food was ok. Som tam cuts can be improved by using proper tool…

Cons: Staff doesn’t read order carefully

good food

the food was quite good! the som tam papaya stripes were cut a little too big and I got tom yam instead of clear soup.. language barrier I guess. The restaurant is also next to a busy street and quite dark.

Another great vegan Thai restaurant.

The food is great! Lots of faux meat options too, and everything we’ve had so far is full of flavour and fresh! Highly recommended for vegan traditional Thai food.

Ok food

The food was ok, we were not to impressed, but Thailand really spoiled us. It's a good place to get a bit different food. And the price is really fair (rather cheap)😄

Vegetarian food just outside the NE of old town

One of the best places with so many selections of veg food outside old town. The price is perfect for the portions and they have a huge selection you can try every day. Very professional workers and always happy to see new customers. Definitely try the spring rolls

Good food. Lowest prices

Cheapest food I’ve had in Thailand, 40 baht each.
Saw pictures before coming here of mock duck in slices.. nowhere to be seen today.
And the mock duck soup I ordered was more like a mince beef substitute.
Not the BEST food I’ve had in Thailand, but can’t complain at 40 baht.

Pros: Caters to vegans well

Vegano y Económico

Es todo vegano y con muchos platos donde elegir. Es económico y el servicio rápido. Pero el plato duck estaba frío y los noddles con nada de sabor

Pros: Vegano, Económico , Servicio rápido

Delicious vegan/Jai food

Note, many people below have left reviews for the wrong place! This is a Thai vegan/Jai restaurant, which is not the same as the Shan food restaurant a few doors down.
Delicious, affordable Thai food. Had the Khao soi which was yum!

Pros: Fully vegan, Affordable

Vegan khao soi 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Such good khao soi for 50 B, big filling portion and they have a huge menu. Would highly recommend, a must stop for chiang Mai vegan eats. There’s at least 60 options (some with egg) and there’s many dishes for 40 B as well.

Tasty Thai food

A small vegan restaurant with all the flavour and variety of Thai food, all at very low prices. Some dishes contain egg but you just have to specify "no egg" to them to have the vegan version of the dish. We will come back!

Pros: Variety of dishes, All is in vegan option, Cheap cheap cheap !

So much variety of Thai & Shan Food

This restaurant has a vast menu and countless choices. They have a wide selection of mock meats, so if you like that type of food it might be a good place to try.
Menus are all in dual language Thai/English and almost everything has a large clear photo of the dish on the wall or in the menu book. Ordering is easy, they can speak English.
The food I ordered took a short time to prepare fresh and was a good example of both dishes. The prices here are very affordable.
I recommend this place as a Thai style eatery, but very different from the pre-cooked point and select Thai places encountered around Chiang Mai. Well worth a visit.

Pros: A wide selection of Thai & Shan food, A number of types of mock meat is available, Food is freshly cooked

A favourite in Chiang Mai 😍

They have the best Khao Soi and Japanese curry. The Thai carrot cakes are also really nice. They have different types of fake meats, like pork, duck and chicken in the curries and noodles. They're also on foodpanda if you want to order!

Delicious and cheap eats

Finally the 50 baht food I'd been reading about! Huge menu with lots of options, nice to have fake meat options, too. Mock duck!! Which is hard to find in the US. Super, super cheap and delicious.

Pros: Tons of options, super cheap, authentic cooking

Cons: Not a very "nice" or relaxing place to hang out

Affordable & Good Varieties

Was in Chiang Mai for 20 days in Nov 2019.
Me & my Veggie Friends who have been to Chiangmai every year for the past few Years, patronise the original Restaurant opposite the Chiangmai University's Dept. of Pharmacy & their branch at Central Festival Mall.
Wide Selection of Affordable Dishes with Amazing Photos.
Some "Pure vegetarians" might not like the Mock Meat.

Good when on a budget

Many food options, mostly imitation of meat dishes. However, I only liked a few (soups, mushroom glass noodles, Japanese curry, curried rice. In the end, I got bored after trying almost everything - not the most memorable food in Chiang Mai. Good place to try Tom Yum but salads are too sweet and sour. Be careful if asking for spicy because they will deliver on that :)

It's a good option to order Foodpanda delivery, though minimum order value is too much for one person.
