Nice and well located in Braunlage - Edit
The restaurant is located just two minutes walk from the main street but despite that flooded with people streaming in.

Leider swhr enttäuscht - Edit
Wir hatten im Internet die große (und sehr lecker klingende) vegane Auswahl der Karte gesehen und uns sehr gefreut. Als wir dann da waren wurden wir sehr enttäuscht, da die Karte im Netz nicht mehr aktuell ist und es keinen veganen Burger gibt. Man kann alle Patties durch ein veganes ersetzen, muss aber dann auch alle anderen nicht veganen Dinge vom Burger streichen. Es gibt keine Alternativen. Der Preis wird auch nicht angepasst.

Sehr zufrieden - Edit
Haben heute im Vorbeigehen, noch vor Öffnung schnell und unproblematisch nen Tisch reservieren können. Wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt und hätten sogar unsere 2 Irish Wolfhound mit in den Innenbereich nehmen dürfen.
Read moreDie vegane Auswahl ist zwar nicht überdimensional aber man bekommt alle Zusatz-oder Änderungswünsche erfüllt. Die Portionen sind prima und alles hat gut geschmeckt.
Besonders zu erwähnen ist das sehr zuvorkommende Serviceteam.

Loads of vegan options, tasty food, great service - Edit
We really enjoyed it here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really lovely. There were about 10 vegan options, including on the children's menu which is not usually the case. Very happy to eat there again.

Bedienung war freundlich. Leider hat es etwas länger gedauert, da das Lokal gut besucht war. Hatte die Tomatensuppe, welche sehr lecker war und die veganen Hackbällchen, die leider etwas fad waren.

Rude, bad communication, not even been served - Edit
Option for eating out as a vegan are limited in the Harz area, but we had a good experience at Jaspers a few years back, then as vegetarians, so we looked forward to eat here again.

So we planned a long hike, excited that we didn't have to cook ourself (again so few dining options here). We arrive at the closed restaurant that did take out only to find out that the restaurant is full. Not 4 tables rearranged to keep 1,5 meters, no all the tables, all full (except outside for some reason). Surprised we try to order something to take home, as we planned.
Now the choices are so very limited already. They have the beyond burger, but you need to specify that you want no cheese on it, that you want no sauce except ketchup (everything else isn't vegan), even a side salad will require you to specify that you want it vegan as every dressing they have is non-vegan. Again, not great, but not many other options.
So, ready to order to go we get refused in the most short and rude way. They were to busy for us, we should have made an reservation (no matter that it wasn't mentioned anywhere that this was the case), we can try again tomorrow. "Thank you for your understanding" in a tone that would even have made Severus Snape's oatmilk curdle.
We were left on the curb, just utterly disappointed and aggravated that someone treated us so unjustly, as if we were the unreasonable people.
What a letdown.

Good, but not extraordinary - Edit
We were so hungry and most of the places in town were full. So we decided on Jaspers. Staff was friendly and quick (think we were lucky, most of the reviews tell a different story). Minutes later people lined up at the door. Were told it's the place for the younger crowd in town, with dance floor upstairs.
Read moreI had the Hackbällchen which I liked (while my bf said it tasted like soaked bread). What filled me up was the huge grilled potato (that wasn't flavoured or with a dip or anything, as was the side salad). A bit of a dressing / oil or salt and pepper on the side would have helped. But the vegan Hack was really nice. Ni vegan sauces accept ketchup :(
Pros: Vegan Hack, nice fries, burgers can be made vegan
Cons: A bit pricey but typical for this area, No vegan sauces, always ask to have a 100% vegan dish!

Die Gerichte haben mit über 30 Minuten mMn zu lange gebraucht.
Wenn man in seinem Burgerladen vegane Optionen anbieten will braucht man folgendes:
•Gute Fleichalternative - ✅ (Beyond Meat)
•Veganer Käse ❌
•Vegane Mayo und Soßen ❌ - allgm. nur Ketchup und Mayo von Heinz verfügbar
•Veganes Dressing für Beilagen ❌ - Essig-Öl hätte gereicht, gabs nicht
•Informiertes und aufgewecktes Personal ❌ meine Freundin hat den Hamburger „in vegan mit Beyond Meat Patty bestellt“. Da sollte man zumindest nachfragen ob sie dann die nicht vegane Burger Soße möchte anstatt den Burger dan so zu servieren.
Ich hatte die veganen Fleischbällchen. Simpel aber lecker, nur leider viel zu wenig. Beilage war eine trockene Ofenkartoffel (kein Dressing, keine Margarine oder ähnliches) und ein „Salat“ (handvoll Blätter und zwei halbierte Cherrytomatem).
Pros: Beyond Meat Patty
Cons: Teuer, wenig Optionen, keine vegane Mayo oder Käsealternative

yummy Beyond Burger! - Edit
Cosy atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. The drinks took a bit, but for us it was ok. We had the beyond burger which was very nice. We also had tomato soup which came with a mini roll.
Read moreThe burger comes with a little salad. Make sure they don’t put (non-vegan) yoghurt sauce on it.
