Not suitable for vegans - Edit
I ordered mixed vegetables with tofu. I asked the basic questions to ensure there would be no fish sauce, animal broth, etc. and explained that I was vegan. The person taking my order seemed to understand. Sadly, I discovered two pieces of meat mixed in my dish. After getting sick, I called and spoke to a manager. They said there was no way I found "real meat" and that tofu sometimes gets overcooked/fried? and will have a darker color. It was clearly a piece of spare rib meat with the reddish coloring and the texture was absolutely not tofu. The staff are nice enough but I won't ever order from this restaurant again.

Not Vegan Friendly - Edit
I went to "Jack Chen II" after spending the day at Six Flags New England. I found it on my Happy Cow app. There are not many vegan options in the area, it was late and we were starving. It's a tiny little take out place and not a sit down restaurant with any ambiance, waiters or alcoholic drinks. We ate our food on styrofoam plates with plastic forks. I'm vegan and the first thing I noticed was that the owner (who was taking my order) didn't know what vegan was. While it is true that they have a variety of "fake meats," there is no way to verify that they are actually vegan & I personally don't trust it enough to go back and I wouldn't go back. We ordered some food to try and ate it at the restaurant and it was ok. Definitely oily, unhealthy & like I said I'm not convinced it was vegan even after talking to the owner about what I needed (no chicken / meat stock, eggs, fish sauce etc...). We were really hungry after Six Flags so we ordered vegetable fried rice, a seitan dish, curry soy protein and a broccoli dish. I only gave them 2 stars because the portions were big & they at least have seitan & soy protein and most places do not have that so perhaps they are trying? I don't recommend this restaurant and I would recommend trying to find somewhere else to eat. I won't eat the leftovers & I hate wasting food. The worst part of my experience came when I asked to use the bathroom. I wish I never asked. The bathroom was filthy & the sink was filled with things and unusable. I had to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom & that was a vegans nightmare. I'm not exaggerating when I say that there were giant buckets filled with blood & meat & long bloody gloves laying around all over the place. I felt like it was something you would see in a slaughterhouse and it totally turned my stomach and made me wish I never had eaten there. I felt sick. I don't know why those buckets were all out like that but I didn't need to see it. This is definitely not a vegan friendly establishment.

MORE VEGGIE PROTEIN THAN OTHER RESTAURANTS - Edit
The Jack Chen Chinese Restaurant has Asian Vegetarian Cuisine dinners which come with more texturized veggie soy protein than any other Chinese restaurant we've been to in the USA! You can eat there or get take-out. We've tried all ten of the entrees on their Pan Asian Vegetarian menu. Our favorite is the newest one, which isn't listed except on the wall at the restaurant: Vegan Pad Thai with vegetables. They will make it just the way we like it with low oil, no added salt and less spice. They do not use msg! You can have the veggie Chick-N or veggie beeef substituted in any entree on the menu. Another favorite is V8 with Basil, veggies & soy protein in a delicious sauce. It comes with white or brown (medium grain) rice. They also use separate knives/spoons for vegetarian/vegan items. There have been a number of times when we've been from 10 to 23 miles away and close to other Asian restaurants. However, because of the quality and great service at Jack Chen of East Longmeadow, we've gone out of our way for their food. They are easy to find--next to Dunkin Donuts and are about 500 ft from the town center & Rt 83.
