Nice and healthy vegan food without the five spices

None of the five spices (e.g. onion, garlic, leek, chives) are being used in their menu, which is good news to those who wish to avoid. Owner speaks good English and explains the dishes very well.

It is tucked in a small alley. Not very conspicuous.

Pros: Healthy, non GMO, no sugar used

Tasteful creativity

These dishes are so flavourful you will want to come back again and again! We had a hard time choosing between the creative and delicious looking dishes, but any choice would have been a good one!

Amazing

Lovely small restaurant with a homey feeling. I don't speak a word of Korean so having someone who speaks English was awesome. The food was also delicious! I will be back for sure to try more!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Big Portions , Nice Vibe

The food here never disappoints. It keeps you full and the environment and staff are very kind. There are lots of options on the menu too.

Delicious, friendly and Fully Vegan

Located conveniently close to Namcheon Meto Station on Line 2, this restaraunt has an array of Korean and International vegan dishes.

As this was my first full day in Korea, I opted for the former; the bibimbop, which did not disapoint. Packed with flavour, the rice was the perfect consistency, a nice midground between light, fluffy and crunchy, with the soy 'meat' contrasted by the fresh mushrooms and salad. This was accompanied by a sharp, tangy vegan Kimchi and a smooth corn soup.

All food was served hot and fresh, and the decor and ambience makes visiting this small restaraunt an all around homely experience

The real swaying factor in whether I will visit again, though, is the staff. Friendly, warm, and with a genuine interest in what has lead you to their restaraunt and Busan as a whole, all in perfect English, there is a reason that those who visit once often seem to be back again.

As will I!

Great dinner!

Ate the Bulgogi Burger and it was so delicious! It was a little pricey but it’s definitely value for money! I can’t remember what the cake is called but it was so good too!

Lunch

Awesome place! My friend took me here because we wanted to go eat something healthy and it was delicious! I myself isn’t vegan or vegetarian but it didn’t seem like a vegan or vegetarian restaurant at all! We ate the korean bibimbap and a burrito, both were tasty! We also got soups on the house! How awesome is that! The owners were super welcoming and sincere. I’d definitly come back! PS we also ordered a cake off the menu that was really good as well!!

Pros: Clean, Service is good , Tasty

Delicious and nourishing food in a lovely place

My friends and I visited today and had the loveliest experience. The owner was so welcoming and answered all our questions about the menu. My friend and I sharedthe burrito and chickpea burger on ciabatta. We also each got a latte (which she offered to make with coconut milk and cinnamon instead of soy milk as listed in the menu, we took her up on that!) and a slice of cake. Everything was delicious and made with love. Enjoyed chatting with the owner and would love to go back one day!

Pros: Delicious , healthy , reasonable process

Loved it

Small, cute restaurant which serves delicious vegan food. The staff is really nice and they speak English. There are gluten free options for those who need/want it. I had a wonderful time there eating and talking. Tried a burger which was very good and will go back for sure to try other meals :D

Pros: Delicious food, Very nice staff (English speaking), Good prices

Vegan’s delight

Jack and the Beanstalk is an all-in-one terrific place to visit. The atmosphere is small, cozy, and intimate. The staff is friendly, personable, and informative. The food is amazingly delicious, hearty, and most of all fresh! I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in Busan and I will also be a repeat customer.

Directions (because reading maps is hard, of course): come out of exit 1 at Namcheon station and turn right at the top of the stairs then turn left at the IBK bank. Go straight down that street for 2 blocks and then turn left. Walk straight for 2 mins and the restaurant is on your left. Good luck and enjoy.

One of the best vegan restaurant I tried

A very good and tasty vegan restaurant in gwangalli beach area. You have different burger it's the main offer (also can change the bread to "rice bun"), you can have a burrito too, 2 different kind of pasta, ratatouille, or one pizza, one daily dessert... the place is very nice, cosy, the staff is very friendly and speak fluent English.

Pros: Friendly staff , Healthy, Delicious food

Really nice restaurant

I went here during my trip to Busan and it was one of the best places I visited! The restaurant itself is really nice looking, even in november we could sit on the veranda outside! I had the ratatouille, which came with bread, salad, soup, potatoe wedges and pickles. Everything tastes really good and was fresh! I also had the kale smoothie, which was tasty as well!

I would highly recommend the place! And the owner speaks verry good English and is really passionated!

Note: it is open on sundays (despite what happycow sais)

Pros: Good location, Nice athmospehere, Friendly staff

Cons: Cannot think of one!

Love the ambiance, service and food!

Had a green smoothie when I first came in followed by a lovely picture of warm lemon water. The ladies had a soft opening today with 3 main dishes. I sampled the AMAZING ratatouille and loved my burrito that had the right amount of spicy. This restaurant is nestled into a cozy neighborhood yet so close to Line 2. The converted house is charming!

Pros: nice staff, simple and delicious , reasonable prices

Cons: limited seating

Best Place in Busan

The owner is so sweet and this restaurant is adorable. Everything is made fresh and to order. It’s all organic too. You usually get a fresh salad or appetizer, main course and a drink/appetizer.

The restaurant is smalll so do be weary about bringing more than 3 people. Nonetheless the menu is always delicious - it will rotate a burger, a salad, pasta or falafel dish.

Highly recommended! It’s a little difficult to find but way worth it.

Pros: organic, reasonable price, friendly

Cons: limited seating

Lovely staff

Short notice from the the staff: There will be a summer vacation from August 21st to September 19th (2017). Therefore the restaurant will be closed in the meantime. It will open again normally after the vacation ends.

Jack and the Beanstalk is definately a small gem. The staff is super nice and welcoming, the atmosphere is quite cozy and the food comes with reasonable prices and tastes good too.

Excellent Little Restaurant

I have already been there about 5 times in the past 2 weeks, I can't get enough of the falafel burgers. The price is great and it leaves you full for hours!

So Good

Took my meat eating boyfriend to this place tonight and he ordered the verge burger. He said it was the best burger he's ever had. I got the burrito and its one of the best i've had. We also had a kale smoothie and blueberry smoothie. So good to eat alive food again as it can be pretty difficult to eat organically in Korea! If I'm in the area again i will be back to try some of the other delicious-looking items i didn't get to. Price is reasonable for quality of food although not as cheap as Korean restaurants in general.

Pros: Amazing Food, Great Service, Free tea

Best Restaurant in Korea!

This is my Korean heaven! I am so lucky to have found this restaurant after struggling through out my time living in South Korea to find fresh and organic vegetarian and vegan food. The owner is hard working, passionate about vegan food, and extremely kind. I am now volunteering here for 5 weeks through the WWOOF Korea program and LOVE everything about it!!! It is very close to Gwangali beach so I recommend ordering a vegan burger or burrito and smoothie to go and enjoying a beach side vegan meal : )

Also- Jack and the Beanstalk will be open over the chuseok holiday 9/26, 9/27 and 9/29! It will just be closed on Monday like usual.

Jack and Beanstalk

I had the veggie burger which was really delicious, I highly recommend it. However, its very very tiny, but the price is also very low. I recommend getting it with another dish.

I also ordered the ratatouille. It was so delicious and flavorful and served with a side salad that was also good.

The staff here was very kind.

Pros: Price, Service, Atmosphere

Cons: Location, Serving Size

A big let down

I'm going to go against the trend here. I don't understand the rage about this place. Such a disappointment. We went to Jack and the Beanstalk with great excitement as it has consistently received good reviews.

The food was uncreative and sad. We ordered three items from their menu, an burger, a creamy pasta and air fried chips. First of all, the air fried chips were not air fried and was not even close to the photo they posted on FB (reference: http://on.fb.me/1JG3vTF). What we received was store bought frozen fries, the thick crinkled kind, that was not fried properly. Not even crispy on the outside. It was sad.

The Creamy Pasta is more like a creamy spaghetti soup. The pasta was literally soaking in a sea of sauce. The sauce itself was delicious, but there was just too much of it.

The Burger was dull and boring. It's hard to explain, but it lacked that burger 'X-Factor' Store bought patty, upon a store bought bun, with store bought mustard and some very sad looking iceberg lettuce.

The owner Sophia was REALLY friendly and nice. But thats about the only thing that was consistent from the reviews.

Understand that this is not a gourmet restaurant, but with its high reviews from the community, I would expect a lot more. This place needs improvement. Would not go out of the way to go there.

Let me know if you experience the same experience, or it was just a bad day for us! :)

delicious vegan food!

We were dilighted to find this place since it is not easy to find vegetarian food in south korea. The vegan air fried chicken and the vegan steak were delicious, there is nothing that could have been better. The coconut-lemonade is also very good. You can also buy some vegan snacks like chocolate and instantnoodles at this place and the staff speaks english. Don't miss it :)

Pros: staff speaks english, delicious, vegan

best vegan restaurant in the known universe?

Amazing fresh food all organic and bought from the farmers. Sophia is a vegan angel and will make you feel welcome and at home the moment you step inside. The food is fantastic and is served lovingly. One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to!

simply delicious and healthy

tasty food, funny and friendly people!

the burger is so delicious and fresh, good for a snack anytime,
the steak is so juicy and moist, unlike the usual vegan processed food
they are all hand made in the restaurant, and so the quality is just in a different scale.
cream pasta... hmmm creamy.. yum! can't believe it's vegan, it's better than the usual one i get in normal restaurants.

tasty, organic, gmo free, what else do i want?

if everyone tried vegan food tastes this good, there will be less people eating meat :)
