Incredible food & staff - Edit
Such an amazing restaurant. Some of the best vegan food we’ve had. The flavours of each dish are so well blended and delightful. We had some hand rolls, kimchi, gyoza, charred eggplant and ramen and were blown away but how good everything was. The staff are so delightful and friendly as well. Do not miss this place - it’s a gem!

After a bit of a slow start (took ten minutes to get menus after being seated), our food came and we were in heaven. The sushi was amazing and so were the mains we ordered (katsu don and katsu curry). We didn't have to wait too long for our sushi to come and after, our mains.

I would just like to say that Izakaya Midori is my favourite place to eat at on the planet. I have been visiting for years now and even though it is a 75 minute drive each way to get there from where I live, I can assure you that it is well worth the trip. From day one, all of the staff have been amazingly friendly to myself and everyone that I have taken to share the experience with. I believe that every customer is treated as if they are family and given the highest quality food during their dining experience. I will always be thankful that a place like Izakaya Midori exists and that I can enjoy their wonderful food regularly.

Cute restuarant with the nicest staff. Meals came out fast and fresh - tasty as well. Portion sizes are great and atmosphere was perfect. I have another dinner booked for a couple days, that's how amazing it is. Felt like I was in a little restuarant in the heart of Shinjuku. 5/5

Read moreEvery time I return here I'm totally blown away by the presentation of their meals, the flavours & the staff attentiveness toward customer service.
It's too hard to recommend a meal, so just go with your gut. Although, if I had to pick favourites I would say I am a big fan of their Gyoza, their ever-changing 'future of sushi' options, their Agedashi Tofu entrees and of course how could you possibly go past the Nasu Miso Eggplant!
The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and service provided, which is the main reason we return time and time again.
Booking is a must on the weekends!
Pros: Many options, all of which are Vegan, and friendly, attentive staff.
Cons: On Friday & Saturday nights, be prepared to wait a little while to be served, it gets very busy!

Hands down best vegan sushi I have EVER had. We also ordered the katsu and karaage Japanese curry for dinner and returned for lunch the next day and ordered the katsu don and karaage don, and again, more sushi.

Our table had a variety of dishes from the lunch menu and everyone was truly satisfied with their meals (even the meat eaters were commenting on how wonderful their meal was!). Also had the matcha mousse cake and its super yummy! So happy to find vegan agedashi tofu here. There is a family meal deal for takeaways which is really good value. The staff are very friendly too!

This place was amazing! Everything on the menu is outstanding but the house made KimChi is the best I’ve ever had. We even got a second helping to take home with us. We live an hour away but we’ll make the trip just for this restaurant, that’s how good it was!

My friends and I drive over an hour to come to eat here, it’s just that special. Have visited multiple times and service is always incredible. The atmosphere is to cherish, everyone who works here is extremely kind. Would recommend booking as the place usually gets full. Have tried most options from the menu and can’t say anything bad about it. A gorgeous menu with options I have never seen anywhere else. VEGAN SASHIMI!

My favourite dishes are the gyoza, the house made pickles (INCREDIBLE) and karaage chicken. If you feel like something cleaner, their sushi is mind blowing -fresh and so delish!

Best vegan restaurant on the Gold Coast - Edit
We came here after three weeks in Vietnam and we were very impressed. Great atmosphere and the sushi was simply amazing. The vegan calamari was better than meat based and everything we had here exceeded expectations. If you only have time to go to one vegan restaurant in the Gold Coast make it this one.

This place is unreal, all the traditional Japanese dishes done a plant based. I don’t know how they do, the carpaccio we had could have easily been salmon, the look, smell and taste was like nothing I’ve seen before. Probably the best gyoza I have ever had, and the karaage was delicious. Very cheap for all the dishes, nice small selection of Japanese drinks and a few items to be able to buy to make at home. Every trip near the Gold Coast will now feature a visit here!

This place has it all, I only wish it was closer to Brisbane! The food was delicious, with the ramen the best I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is very relaxing and kids are catered for with high chairs and a small play area. Great selection of drinks and very reasonably priced.
