They had 4 clearly marked vegan flavors when I went: coconut, chocolate, mocha, and a sorbet. I had the mocha and it was unfortunately very icy. Not a creamy icecream texture. My dad had coconut and it was a little better. Sorbet may be the safer choice

Chincoteague may not have a lot of vegan options, but Island Creamery always has several non-dairy flavors, plus sorbet. And the Oreos and chocolate syrup are vegan too!

We went here probably 4-5 times in our one week stay! There’s not a lot to do on the island & it was a nice little outing. The line is long—takes about 20min if blocking first part of parking lot, so not terrible, just be sure to spray bug spray beforehand or the mosquitos will enjoy a treat before you get yours! The vegan flavors they had week of 7/10-18 were coconut, chocolate, mocha, & watermelon sorbet. I got each one except chocolate & would recommend then all! Sugar & regular cones are supposed to be vegan, not waffle cone though. I also got the Affagato once which was two scoops of ice cream of choice with 2 shots of espresso (in cup like root beer float)—this was amazing with the coconut & a nice pick me up! Make sure to tell them vegan of whatever flavor you get.

Solid vegan options - Edit
This place always has a few solid vegan options. I got the strawberry colada which was okay but more icy like a sorbet than creamy. I really liked the mocha flavor and would definitely get it again. Make sure you say vegan in your order since they have non-vegan versions of most of the vegan flavors

Simply the best - Edit
By far the best local-made ice cream shop on Chincoteague Island (and for many miles around). They recently added non-dairy flavors of ice cream and sorbets. Something for everyone here. Do not be intimidated by a long line out front; this is only an indication of their popularity and the superiority of the product.

Homemade Vegan Ice Cream - Edit
Island Creamery has a great beachy atmosphere. Bright and clean as a whistle too. Plenty of seating inside and out. Friendly and helpful staff. But most importantly the vegan ice cream is delicious! When I was there this weekend the flavors we're coconut, mocha and mint chocolate Oreo. All three get a thumbs up from me. Don't be put off if you see a line out the door. This place is efficient and the line moves very quickly.
