Best Jamaican in Grand Rapids - Edit
Irie Kitchen stands proud as the only Jamaican restaurant in GR with a wide menu of vegan options. Irie Kitchen is a newer restaurant that is still making a name for itself. However, do not let its newbie status deter you.
Read moreIrie Kitchen goes hard. They give you food and food and food. Their veggie platter is huge with a lot of veggies to choose from, and all vegan. It is not an amount of food that I could eat at one sitting or even a second. And the choices are varied and all taste salty and savory.
I have only ordered the food to-go, so I do not know about the dinning experience. But they always seemed busy when I would go in to pick-up the food, which I am glad for their business.
If you are interested in Caribbean food at all, Irie Kitchen is a good start for plant-based patrons.
Pros: Many Vegan Options, Large portions
Cons: Not entirely vegan

Love all the food here - Edit
Lots of vegan options here and ALL of them are really tasty. Seriously, I've enjoyed everything that I've ever tried at this place. The spiciness of some of their dishes is something fierce, which I really enjoy but others might not. As I understand, they do catering jobs during the week, so takeout hours are limited to the weekend.

Awesome Food! - Edit
The best tofu I have ever had at a restaurant! I ordered the tofu vegan box. $15 for tofu, veggies and rice with beans. The flavor was amazing!! I wish there were more veggies and less rice, but the meal was simply amazing!!! I will definitely be back!

jamaican me crazy! - Edit
irie kitchen is a hidden gem in a strip mall on the outskirts of kentwood, right near the highway ramp. super cute interior, with big tables and benches for family style seating and eating. the curried chickpeas were absolute perfection. and the mushrooms and jerk tofu were some of the best things i've ever eaten, i have no idea how they got those shroomies to melt in your mouth and the tofu was nice and crispy and deliciously spiced. the veggies were yummy too!
Read morei also got a drink called sorrel, it's a traditional, spiced hibiscus juice, so tastey! and a smoothie that tasted like a mango lassi with berries!
