Get outta here with these packets.

I only get sushi on special occasions + I have high expectations bc $$. I got the dragon + red crunch rolls + they were alright. The tofu crab is a creamy delight. However! I was less than thrilled to find brokeass packets of wasabi + ginger instead of the usual containers that evoke a sense of quality + freshness. It’s true that like 99% of sushi restaurants in the US make “wasabi” with a mixture of horseradish, mustard powder, cornstarch + food dye, so the packet ingredients aren’t wildly off base. It actually tasted ok + packed a helluva punch, omg, but the ginger was too soft + oddly sweet, so I wasn’t surprised to see aspartame on the list. Made in China, yeesh.

WASABI: horseradish, corn oil, salt, water, citric acid, turmeric, fd&c blue #1
GINGER: ginger, water, salt, acetic acid, citric acid, aspartame, potassium sorbate

I have no complaints about the korokke tho. Deep fried mashed potato goodness, oh my! The packets ruined what otherwise woulda been a good experience + I think it’s fair to assume they cut corners + use cheap ingredients for the food they make in house too. For these prices?? Nah.

Pros: food tastes good

Cons: wasabi + ginger packets are brokeass
