Immaculate vibes - Edit
The tea and sweets were great, and the vibes were lovely and calm in the busy city.

Definitely recommend! - Edit
Cute little teahouse, with absolutely delicious honey rice cakes. The grilled ones were nice too, but the flower shaped ones were amazing. A nice place to stop and sit a while. Wish I could go back!

Disappointed - Edit
The place was very crowded but I still got a space right away which was great. I love tea,I have a selection of about 200 teas at home all the time. I thought that there is no "real tea" I didn't like but I was proven wrong. The tea was the worst in my life and that for around 8000won per cup..I ordered the plum tea and it just tasted like something was rotten or so.Hard to describe. Not fermented but really off. I wanted to ask if the taste is suppost to be like this but the stuff was so busy that I did not want to disturb them.I also ordered the grilled rice cake set with the honey cookies without the honey. That one was good, just hope that the cookie itself was without honey. I wouldn't go there again.

Relaxing tea time - Edit
I've been here with a couple of friends by chance and we all loved it. Since we were quite a large group, we got seated in the back house at a large table on the floor. The floor is heated, so it was really cozy and we stayed quite a while. The tea was great and so where the rice cakes. We all especially loved the long, plain, grilled ones. 😍
Read moreThe honey cakes obviously aren't vegan, but according to the waiter, the other snacks are. Better confirm it yourself if you aren't sure.
The prices are quite high though, but I guess that's to be expected in the middle of Insadong 🤷♀️
Pros: Large tea menue, Great rice cakes, Floor heating
Cons: Rather expensive

Nice atmosphere - Edit
I liked the relaxing and rustique atmosphere inside. It wasn't too crowded and we could enjoy our drinks. I personally loved the roasted ricecakestick, they were delicious. They are vegan, but come with a little cup of honey, you can tell them when ordering if you don't want it. the Tea was a bit too sweet, but that's because we chose plum and yuzu Tea instead of an herbal Tea.

Tasty but… - Edit
Unlike people commenting that everything is vegan, it is not. The rice cakes are supposed to be dipped in honey! So not vegan just vegetarian😄

One of many - Edit
This is one out of literally dozens of tea houses in Insadong, which offer traditional Korean desserts and teas inside rustic ambiente. Most traditional Korean desserts are vegan by default, so it is easy to find alternatives in the area. The location of this one is not even extraordinarily beautiful or fun to be in... It is simply on the main road and located in the basement, which makes it easy to access but the atmosphere inside is relatively dark and stuffy. It is also crowded most of the time.
Read moreLike all tea houses in the shopping area of Insadong, prices for tea and dessert are quite high.
I don’t see anything special about this particular tea house other than that they offer Duteoptteok 두텁떡, which used to be a royal kind of Tteok (Korean rice cake) and is not easy to find nowadays.
Pros: convenient location
Cons: pricey, commonplace , gets really crowded

Traditional Tea! - Edit
I just love Insadong and this tea house is amazing! I ordered the medicinal herbal tea and got a few rice cake type treats to go with it.

Perfect for area - Edit
This is a very traditional arts area so try to go here instead of having a latte and cake! This is why you are in Insadong.

Not my cup of tea - Edit
The setting is lovely and authentic Korean. The food wasn't to my liking so I cant rate it higher, but I am sure others may enjoy. I was also given the impression I had to order a tea and couldn't order just dessert. Perhaps understandable for a tea house but annoying.

Expensive but very nice. - Edit
The atmosphere was really nice, very traditional Korean teahouse feeling (except for the holiday music they were playing). The ssanghwa tea (on the menu, herbal something) was really good, and the dessert I had wasn't bad. It was expensive though, the teas were 7,000 won and the dessert was 6,000 won.
