Great noodle soups!

The dishes were great and I'm usually a fan of Ima. When it's a busy night though, there is quite a wait and they did forget to bring me a mushroom skewer I had ordered despite asking about it multiple times.

They did rectify it by bringing it to me eventually and waived the cost (though only offered one rather than the usual two skewers but it's a free one I guess) 🤷‍♀️

What's great about going as a group is getting to see many different dishes come out to see in person

- Japanese Barbecue Eggplant
- Tofu Katsu Curry
- Yuzu Miso Udon
- Chilled Sesame Noodles
- Teriyaki Noodles with tofu
- Kaiso Seaweed Salad
- Asparagus & Smoked Trumpet Mushroom skewer
I love their vegan pho and udon noodle soups!
---
They also feature some vegan appetizers like candied yams, broccolini, and picked veggies. Definitely get their vegan coconut custard dessert after too!

Delish!!!!

Went for lunch today - first time - soooo good and the staff was super kind and helped us decide what to get. With gluten sensitivity they assured me what I ordered was safe. #Veganuary

Pros: Vegan as well as gluten free - thank you!

Delicious!

We usually get the Yaki Udon (made vegan) and forest Udon! They are both phenomenal and keep us coming back. They also have a vegan desert that has our taste buds very pleased ♥️

Pros: Delicious vegan options , Reasonably priced , Delicious vegan dessert

Cons: Not entirely vegan

Aromatic & Beautiful

This place had all the right smells, always a good sign. It’s a delightful space with an adjoining casual seating area utilizing picnic tables. We sat in the front room near the kitchen which consists of sleek community tables and counter tops with an Asian architectural feel. Ordered the vegan Pho which almost made me cry, it was so good.
The tofu was so fresh and the texture was perfect. The broth cured a lurking cold that was about to get me. My dining partner had the golden curry. I thought the curry texture was too thick. That dish was mostly rice, which seemed undercooked. There were a few veggies in it, though celery is not a main ingredient I wish to see in a meal. I had several bites and tried to like it but I really did not. My partner thought it was “ok.” Go for the Pho! I’d also like to try the Udon next time.

Corktown gem!

What a great little place. While it’s not exactly authentic, the pan-Asian menu is tasty and the vibe at the communal tables is cool. There are about four vegan entrees and most of the appetizers are also vegan. Everything we had was very good.

Rich with flavor

The Forest Udon soup is loaded with sesame tofu, smoked trumpets, Chinese broccoli, nori, rosemary, and scallions in garlic oil and porcini broth. The portions are large and so flavorful and comforting! I can't wait to try the other vegan options.

Pros: flavorful, large portions, casual dining with high quality food

Cons: small dining area

Forest Udon is amazing

This is one of the only upscale noodle shops I've ever been to where the veggie option doesn't feel like an afterthought. The forest udon is great, with an incredibly flavorful vegan broth (mushroomy and herbacious, with rosemary aromas). I've had a rice bowl there as well, but the udon is really the star.

The edamame is also fantastic--coated with lemon and chili oil--as is the sweet and smoky tofu, which you can add to noodle or rice bowls.

Their vegan pudding-y dessert though isn't for me; it's a little bland and a little chalky, and just generally not worth it.

Pros: Amazing Food, Not too expensive, Nice waitstaff

Cons: Small/ generally crowded

ridiculously good

There is only one vegan broth option, but it is so tasty you won't need another option. There are two vegan rice bowl options and a couple appetizers. Everything is delicious, with complex flavors. They serve booze too. Casual type seating, fast-paced. If you are visiting Detroit this is one place you must not miss.

Pros: super tasty, affordable prices

Cons: could use more vegan options
