Best African Food in Frankfurt - Edit
I always go for the vegan platter with a selection of different vegan dishes and injera. The food is very authentic and the restaurant itself is just beautifully designed and decorated. Make sure to book a table in advance as it gets very busy!

Great athmosphere and tasty vegan options - Edit
We enjoyed the African atmosphere (sand on the floor, africa-styled music and decoration, low tables and eating with bare hands from the injera). The stuff was nice and english-speaking. There are 4 vegan main dishes and 1 vegetarian, the latter was the tastiest. Vegan lenses and chickpeas were also very good, as well as african tea and their home-made dark beer. Was a bit expensive, but it was worth it!

Nice food in social atmosphere - Edit
I have been to their restaurant in Mainz and now also visited the (older one) in Frankfurt. The atmosphere is a bit different, with all the sand on the floor, but the food was the same (which means really nice). Half of their main courses are vegan and the best you can do is to go there with some friends and order them all. They will serve them on a huge platter on some Eritean pancake-like bread which you can use with your hands to eat the food. You should make sure to just share such a platter with vegan friends (or such friends who are okay with just eating vegan here) as the dishes will inevitably intermix during your meal.

Pros: 5 vegan choices, great beers

Great design, good food - Edit
We went to this restaurant the other night and I was surprised by how big it is! They have two big rooms upstairs and even more space downstairs.
Read moreThe design of the place is fun as you can for example sit in a "tree house" of sorts and eat your meal there.
There are 5 vegan options: One hummus starter and 4 main dishes, as well as a vegan plate where you can choose 3 out of the 4 main dishes. Generally, like other African restaurants in Frankfurt, you eat with your hand(s)! So be prepared for that! We enjoyed it, as it is a fun experience! Once you find out how to best scoop the food with the bread ;)
The food is very tasty and I can recommend the lentil and chickpeas. I would also recommend going for the 3-dish-plate, as it is only slightly more expensive, but a lot more food and variety! If you ask nicely they will even give you a plate with all 4 vegan dishes! This proved to be enough for 2 people though.
Pros: Vegan labeled, Yummy food
