Excellent Food... - Edit
The shitake mushroom risotto was excellent and we'll portioned for my sized appetite. The red wine by the glass is good for the inexpensive price, but the vegan tiramisu is quite possibly the best I've ever had...not overly sweet and a great balance to the bittersweet chocolate powder.

While the taste of the food was great, the appearance (like the decor) was less than impressive. With great food, there is such great potential, but the appearance of everything should match that quality.

Thank you very much for enjoying our food. I don't agree with the furniture thing though. We are a place where people come to eat, not to make "art visits". We focus on substance and not on appearance. Either way, our simple, rustic décor reflect our vegan bistro simplicity. We are not interested in being super trendy!

we ordered the lasagne and the tagliatelle and coffee, the meals were both very tasty. they had many interesting and delicious sounding options. the portions were good sizes and the outside seating was very quaint. menu items are very affordable.

Amazing vegan food - Edit
A wide array of choices from drinks to Italian and American cuisine as well as delicious cakes. I enjoy everything here, and the lasagna is the best I’ve ever tasted. A must go for vegan food! Also has lovely indoor and outdoor seating.

Their pesto pasta and ragliatelle were delicious, their lasagna was solid, and their tiramisu is a must. I wish we could have tried more, but it was a bit far from where I was staying.

The vegan Italian experience - Edit
As vegan one misses out on eating traditional foods a lot of times. Not in Florence. Il Vegano‘s got you covered. 👏 I agree with the previous review that their could have been more filling in the lasagna, but still it tasted really well. The organic beer was one of the best I tasted and the tiramisu was different from what I expected (no taste of coffee or alcohol) but still splendid. I would come back for sure!

Had the vegan lasagna (good but could have had more filling in the layers) and rice crochette (a little dry but tasty). The winner was the vegan tiramisu - delicious! Meals well priced and would go again.

Lovely vegan place - dishes were around 7.5-10 euro. We got a pesto fusilli, a ragu tagliattelle and a tiramisu to finish. All yummy and fresh.

it’s great to have a fully vegan options in florence. i had the lasagna and to be honest i unfortunately can make a better one at home, not terrible though. i will say it’s the best vegan tiramisu i’ve had here, most of the ones i’ve had were basically whipped coconut cream and this was way better. cheesecake was… mushy and not good.

I decided to give it a try after the previous review. I really liked it. Allergens clearly listed. A lot of glutenfree options. I had the asparagus risotto and the parmazan eggplant. Tasted great and good portions. Outside seating.

Looked good online, good reviews, and we really wanted to enjoy it as it's hard to find vegan food in Italy. Ordered the fusilli pasta (and received trofie pasta), with an incredibly bitter overpowering leek and cabbage pesto sauce. Was supposed to have walnuts but no taste of those. When I told the man he did not care at all, just said that was the cabbage flavour. Sorry, but flavours like that still need to be balanced and edible, even in a simple bistro! Very disappointing, both for the flavour/quality and also the response to my feedback (which is the main reason I'm now leaving a review - if they can't take feedback nicely they will never improve). Not an enjoyable experience.

No bullshit service combined with vast selection of Italian dishes, all vegan, some fast food leaning. Still wondering how that hot dog tastes. Servizio molto lento e pessimo, ci hanno portato tutti i piatti insieme e quindi abbiamo mangiato i secondi freddi. I primi sono senza sapore e la pasta era quasi cruda, i secondi già meglio ma ci hanno dato 1 e ripeto 1 galletta e 1 una fetta di pan carrè, di una tristezza infinita. Su 6 piatti presi se ne salvavano solo 2 purtroppo, il gulasch buono anche se freddo e l'unico dolce disponibile, la torta al cioccolato e pere.

Taking into account that it is the vegan bistro with the best reviews in Florence I had higher expectations, and maybe that was the problem. The food is ok but nothing special, I ordered the lasagna and you can taste that the pasta is home made but there was only a bit of ragout you cannot even notice it.
