Serves meat, vegan options available. The restaurant (which is also a bed and breakfast), located in the southern Alpine mountains around Turin, always offers a lacto-ovo-vegetarian menu, but can easily cater to vegans. It uses local, seasonal, organically-grown ingredients. Reservations are recommended. Open Wed-Mon lunch and dinner, closed Tue.

slow food, great food

When I happen to be in Val Pellice, in the Alpine region just southwest of Turin, I always have lunch or dinner in this small, cozy restaurant which offers locally grown food, mostly organic. They always have a vegetarian menu, but to get a vegan one it's advisable to call in advance (they speak English, too), even though they are always able to cater for vegan needs on the spot.
Food is simple, but very tasty: home-made focaccia and pickles, vegetable antipasti, pasta or risotto dishes, beans and pulses, roast potatoes, usually represent the bulk of vegan menus. And you can also have some wonderful sorbets made of seasonal fruits, such as yummy blackberry and bluberry sorbets in Summer.

Pros: local food, mostly organic, very tasty

Cons: a bit too small , you need a car to get there
