Serves meat, vegan options available. Low key pizzeria frequented by the locals. Sells the Pisano speciality of cecina, an oven baked vegan chickpea pancake that you buy by the slice or get it in a foccaccia with your choice of toppings such as marinated mushrooms and grilled aubergine. Open Mon-Sat 10:30-15:00, 17:30-22:30.

Delicious foccacia! - Edit
Very cute place in an alley and the foccacia is absolutely delicious. We had the one marked "vegetarian" (but it's vegan) with mushrooms, peppers and eggplant. They also have one with cecina.

Good pizza - Edit
The pizza was great and the staff really friendly. They didn’t have any vegan alternatives on the menu but when asked they gladly made one. No vegan cheese.

Hidden gem! Excellent sandwich! - Edit
We had the cecina focaccia as recommended by one of the other reviews on happy cow - it was superb! Very authentic and rustic little place! Felt very traditional and it was delicious.

Few options but Very authentic and delicious! - Edit
You have to be brave and make yourself understood at the counter as this is a locals place, but do worth it for delicious chickpea pancakes in focaccia bread rolls with fungi, aubergines and salad. If you freak out at the sight of meat, don’t go here, but if you are after authentic Tuscan food, and a less touristy experience this is not to be missed. Very reasonably priced too.

Unfriendly and no vegan options marked - Edit
I think the only vegan option is the focaccia with veg or with Cecia - nothing marked vegan on the menu. The inside bar area is full of cheese and dried meat. The waiter instantly said no when I asked about vegan options, offered no help and no suggestions. We left!

The best place in Pisa for pieces of pizza and cecina on the road - Edit
If you are walking around Pisa, have a break at this pizzeria and ask for "schiacciata con la cecina" or for "quarto di pizza", but be aware that in the pizza they also put anchovies!
