They have the VeganOk sticker in the window so you know it must be okay😄When we went they had three vegan options plus vegan cones. I had the pistachio and caramel flavors and both were really delicious! The flavor and texture were great.
The flavors were not labeled as vegan, but we asked and the woman working there pointed out the vegan options.
Had the pistachio and Nutella flavours, kept asking myself how is this even vegan?! Texture and flavor on point and so good after compromising on fruit sorbet all week....must try if in the area! Lots of flavors to choose from - strawberry yogurt, vanilla caramel, salty caramel, chocolate and more.... Prices good too, 2.50 for small with two flavors.
Really good selection of vegan gelato, I enjoyed vanilla caramel, pistachio and cherry vanilla. Left my wallet in there, went back 20 minutes later and still there.
The staff member was not brilliant as people said before but I’m more interested in the ice cream in this 30 degree heat! About 8 clearly labelled vegan choices including ‘nutella’, pistachio, hazelnut, salted caramel and vanilla caramel.
Great selection of vegan ice cream, clearly marked. - Edit
There were about 10 flavours of ice cream (excluding sorbets) and we sampled quite a few of them. Delicious and very well priced. Some charge extra for vegan cones (if they have them), but this was included. Separate section for vegan ice creams and all with dedicated serving spoons.
Went here on a sunny day looking forward to some amazing vegan ice cream. I was disappointed. The staff didn't speak English and seemed really stressed. I just wanted two cups but was given three because of communication problems and their stress. Cones weren't vegan. The ice cream was ok.
I went there after a very long day really looking forward to some great ice cream options. The staff didn't speak English and they seemed to be very annoyed by the question whether their "vegan" nutella-yogurt flavor was actually vegan or what it was made of. I asked this obvious question because nutella is not vegan and they had two mini nutella jars placed in the ice cream bin on the display. I asked whether it was a soy or coconut based ice cream and the guy just said " no soy, no coconut". There wasn't even a list of ingredients I could have looked at. After all I wasn't convinced if the other options were vegan at all and I left. Very disappointing.
I went here today and I can assure you that I will be back everyday until I leave Rome, the gelato is that good. Today I had hazelnut and vegan Nutella which were absolutely delicious. There was about 8 vegan options (not sorbets!) and they even had vegan cones and wafers that the topped the ice creams with. I can not recommend this place enough, especially if you are travelling with people who aren't vegan and still want the dairy alternative. The only thing I would point out is that they do use mini Nutella jars as decoration in the vegan display but after asking they did confirm that it is vegan Nutella that is actually used in the icecream.
Such a massive range of vegan gelato. And so so so delicious!!!! The best range I’ve found anywhere in Italy. So much more than just the usual fruit sorbets a chocolate one
Lots of vegan choices, including soya ice creams. I've eaten there every night since I got here and will be going again tonight. The lady serving is a wonderful lady, friendly, helpful, and generous. Only one vegan cone but that's ok, you can still fit three scoops on it!! Highly recommend this place to anyone. Worth the walk :)
This is REAL gelato, not the junk they sell to tourists. Tons of decadent vegan and dairy options. I got vanilla, pistachio, and nocciola (hazelnut). All creamy and perfect like proper gelato should be!
They only have one vegan cone available, but that's okay. At the time when I went they had multiple vegan options. I recommend the chocolate and cappuccino. Amazing after a long day in the Colosseum.
They have 5-6 soya gelato flavours, I tried the pistachio one which was ok, but the best one was the nut one-sooo good!! I would definitely recommend this flavour!
The soy icecream is stunning! Went out of my way 4/6 days to get the icecream! First day there were 3 flavours available, by the last day there were 6! Vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, hazelnut, cappuccino and pistachio!
A few soy-based flavors. There's a small plaza down the street where you can sit if the weather is nice.
I couldn't figure out the hours, they're not posted outside the store and don't seem to live anywhere online. I went after 9pm on a Tuesday and they were closed. I went another day earlier in the evening, and they were open.
Lovely place, there were around 6 soy flavours. I chose strawberry and vanilla every time I visited.
I was not even a wafer, but I'm very glad I didn't as I wasn't sure they were vegan.
The cups were pilled high and I was overall very pleased with both the experience and the product.
This place is a must for vegans fed up with sorbets!
I went here 2 days ago, and the guy behind the counter was SUPER excited that I asked about vegan gelato. He assured me the soy gelato was vegan but said that the cones are not vegan.
They had 5 vegan flavors the night I went in. I tried 3 of them, and they were all delicious.
Hi. Went there today (8 Dec 2013). Asked which gelato was vegan and the man said none. Very disappointed. Should have read the other review which had also found this.
I went out of my way to go here on a Saturday, and the case was filled with dairy gelato, but I didn't see any soy gelato. I asked the person behind the counter and they confirmed they didn't have ANY soy gelato. Thinking it was just a temporary shortage, I went back several hours later and they still didn't have any. So if you want a sure-fire place to get soy gelato, don't bother going here.
An easy walk from the colosseum, this gelateria has several soy-based flavors to choose from. No seating inside and can get quite crowded, so walk half a block back down the street to sit by the fountain which, shockingly, seems to be a gathering place for actual local Romans even though it's close to the tourist sites. Recommended!
Easy to find from the coliseum (follow on street level) virtually opposite mother India.
We visited in December. There was a sign and though we don't understand Italian it seemed to say they will be shut in January as there is not much of demand. Back open in feb.
We had chocolate and vanilla in 3 euro tubs. Tubs are large, suggest if you are just sampling go for smallest size! Chocolate was nicest.
Lady behind counter didn't speak English and was rather grumpy! Good job the gelato made up for it. Reading earlier comments,we avoided the cone. Thank you !
