A fav - Edit
I live locally and always come here when I’m craving Italian food. The staff are knowledgeable about their menu, and also about what can be veganised. I’m also gluten free and they do the best gluten free pizza I’ve had in melbourne. The cheese they use is interesting, not your classic shredded vegan cheese from the supermarket, which gives it a more authentic Italian feel.

Friendly staff, delicious vegan food - Edit
Chose this place to eat at with some non-vegan colleagues, and it was amazing. Staff were very friendly and let us split the bill for 8 people, which was very much appreciated! The menu has plenty of vegan options, spoiled for choice. The vegan pesto gnocchi was cooked perfectly, it was delicious!

Incredible vegan Italian! - Edit
We ordered with free delivery and it was super fast, we organised it for 6.15pm and it came early at 5.53pm which was excellent as we were hungry. We ordered the aranchini and the Zucca pizza. The aranchini was delicious, super crunchy outside and creamy inside. The pizza was huge, delicious, and filling. Well worth it for the price in comparison to other vegan pizza deliveries. We will definitely order from here again and recommend it to everyone.

The best vegan Italian food in Melbourne - Edit
If you can't afford to take a trip to Italy - why not visit your local Italian restaurant instead? Il Caminetto has a thoughtful and impressive array of vegan options. If you love wood-fired pizza - the array of vegan options is impressive. Most pizzas can be veganised - with the restuarant's homemade vegan cheese (so melty!) and delicious faux meat.
Read moreFor antipasto, we ordered the arancini balls, which were crunchy and packed full of flavour with mushroom and cheese. Then for pasta, the spaghetti bolognese which was rich and heavenly...we were given a generous side of vegan parmesan too. Pizza was a tough choice, with 13 amazing options. We went with Salsicce e Friarelli, which was veganised with vegan sausage, cheese and a bitter green to balance the richness. Their dessert has several mouthwatering options. We decided on the Tartofu, a creamy ball of hazelnut gelato, covered in chocolate with a gooey chocolate centre. Heaven.
The atmosphere is warm and stylish, the staff friendly - a gorgeous place to spend an evening. And a great place to take a date. A pre or post dinner drink at the bar is a nice touch.
For someone who lives for vegan Italian food, I highly recommend a visit to Il Caminetto. You might need to return to try all their vegan options. Next time!
Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Great vibe
Cons: None!
