Vegan Biscuits & Gravy!

They have tons of veggie options that can be made vegan by subbing for vegan cheese (i.e. tempeh sandwich). Best of all they have vegan biscuits and gravy served until 1:30pm. They are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend them! Their patio is the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious vegan farw under a huge leafy tree.

The best vegan breakfast in town!

We love this place. It can be really busy when the weather is nice so plan for a wait. The vegan flapjacks and biscuits and gravy are really good. They take cash only.

Pros: Lots of vegan options.

Cons: Seating takes a while but it’s worth it! , Cash only.

Outstanding Food

Great tasting food. The vegan items are not always clear on the menu, but the staff is very clear on what is vegan and what can be prepared in a vegan fashion.

Flavorful food, lots of vegan options, knowledgeable staff

The place is very popular, for Sunday brunch there was a 30 min wait time to be seated - but well worth it!
They focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients.

They have many vegan options, including deserts - most of them clearly marked on the menu.
Also, some dishes can be made vegan on request, but the menu is overwhelming at first. However, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful and if unsure ask them.

We decided for the tofu scramble and tortilla with tofu scramble, both come with a potato side and include 4 veggies of choice. Our server told us that the veggie sausage is vegan (not just vegetarian) so we opted for that too - it's very similar to the tofu scramble itself.

The food was fresh and savoury and I would definitely recommend! (although I prefer vegan restaurants, there are limited options around, with only 1 vegetarian restaurant in town).

Pros: Many vegan items, Knowledgeable on vegan food

Cons: Not vegan, or even vegetarian :(, Popular, so there might be a waiting line

Loved it!

For a non-vegetarian restaurant, this place really does alright by vegans by having awesome delicious vegan food! Sure, I want more of it, of course, but Ike's is doing better than most.

I got the Vegan Creole BLT, which was great! Veggie bacon, a creole remoulade, and a side of vegan potato salad -- win! Plus, I ordered one slice of the vegan French toast for $5, and it was so great that I've thought about it ever since. I posted a picture here, you should take a look because it's a thing of beauty. I think they must have used almond flour on it or something.

It's busy, there's a wait outside, and the place hops, but it's worth being patient. Outside waiting, I overheard people talking about becoming vegan, yayyyy! That instantly improves my day.

Pros: great food, somethinf kinda different, one French toast slice for $5

Cons: gotta be patient before being seated, serves animal meat and secretions, bathroom wait cuz folks stare @ wall art

OMG SO GOOD!!!

Ike's has a LOT of vegan options. The french toast is to die for (try it with the brown sugar bananas and pecans...mmm). How about vegan biscuits and gravy? I like getting veg ausage patties, biscuits, and potatoes and making my own breakfas sandwich. Then there's the burgers...yum! They do a cajun tempeh rueben (ruby!), a sausagey, peppery sandwich thing, BLT...there are a LOT of vegan options here, I'm telling you! We hit this place every other weekend or so. They've got a lot of gluten-free options, too. Oh, and I heard they're developing a gluten-free and vegan dessert menu as well. Hooray! Only downside: dang there are a lot of hippies in Nevada City and they sure love Ike's!

Pros: many options, great food, they know their menu

Cons: Not all vegan, watching people eat eggs, a lot of hippies
