So cheap - Edit
You can be in and out in 5mins and only down a dollar or two for vegan junk food in a very central area. We didn’t try the Y50 ice cream (which is seasonally flavoured) but the vegan hot dog and nuggets were yum. They had a surprising variety of clearly marked vegan and/or vegetarian food.

Plant based Karaage was real good! - Edit
It’s a good place to stop for a snack, in the menu there were just a few vegan options like the veggie dog and the PB karaage but they worked for me and you can pay through your IC card because its a cashless business. I also tried the soft serve ice cream but I didn’t find it that creamy. It was ok I guess, the PB karaage was my favorite.
Read morePros: The plant based karaage is great and totally vegan, Paying with an IC card like suika is practical, It’s a super fast service
Cons: They don’t have options if you only have cash, Super crowded on weekends, rends it unpractical, Not healthy at all but really fast

Really cheap vegan meals - Edit
Really cheap vegan meals, either sides or full meals. Menu varies from month to month, also from branch to branch - but I always enjoy the food here. Remember: the plant based plate with gravy, mashed potatoes and jam is not fully vegan - only the veggie balls are.

Only full vegan menu is the Curry (Restaurant) :( - Edit
According to the labeling (green flag) the only vegan menu is the Curry.
Read morePlant balls are vegan too yes, but within the plant balls menu the mashed potatoes, gravy and even the Lingonberry jam are not vegan apparently.
They are also not flexible to just give out a menu with plants balls and fries. We tried and they did after a while but we had to pay the full menu price fries whilst just taking the plant balls.
Bit disappointing since in other IKEAs around the world meanwhile even the gravy is made vegan :(

The bistro is fun! - Edit
We came by here on our way back from shopping. I picked up a plant-based soft serve. It was very crowded but a lot of fun to stand around with the locals leaving school and work.

Always happy with the food here! - Edit
When missing the food from back home Ikea is always the place to go. Tastes good as always and the dining area was very clean and pleasant compared to a lot of other Ikea’s around the world.

Not sure it's vegan. - Edit
Couldn't find anything definitive saying it's vegan. In my googling, I found this page with these descriptions, though I'm not certain where exactly this applies.

We also found some sources saying that the stuff served with the meatballs isn't vegan, and only the balls themselves are (again though, not definitive).
I think we need to reach out to ikea Japan to get a definitive answer.

Super affordable bites - Edit
Several vegan options in the cafe, including kiwi soft serve and a vegan hot dog that you can get with chili con carne on the top. Hot dog with the toppings is only 180 yen and the cone is only 50 yen! Others have noted the portions are not that large, but well worth it given the low price. Just buy two😄

Good cheap ice cream where desserts are otherwise lacking - Edit
We found Shibuya to be fairly lacking easily accessible vegan desserts, so it is nice to have such a cheap option to satisfy the craving. The taste is decent enough, but for 50y to satisfy a sweets craving, it is excellent.

A bit underwhelming - Edit
Even if it's nice that, for example, the only soft cream option is vegan by default (apple based), I expected to see more options and more dishes.

English 👇 『IKEA
We were pleasantly surprised to find that the IKEA department store in Shibuya not only carries plenty of vegan food items in the store, but the restaurant is vegan-friendly too! Well, sort of.
There are two places to grab a snack: the Bistro on the first floor and the Restaurant on the seventh. The Bistro specializes in “plant-based” sausage dogs. The sausage is vegan, the buns are not. D’oh!
So we went up to the Restaurant. We’d been excited to try the veggie meatballs plate (also billed as “plant-based”)… only to find that most of the items on it weren’t vegan. They charged us full price when all we got was the meatballs and a spoonful of peas. Couldn’t they at least have given us more peas or something??
Luckily, the meatballs were so delicious that we didn’t much mind getting shortchanged.
And the keema curry, oat latte, and apple soft-serve ice cream were all delicious, cheap, and VEGAN!
In the end, we left IKEA as happy shoppers. Smaklig måltid!
Pros: Cheap, Yummy
Cons: Wish the veggie meatball plate was fully vegan
