The Most Delightful Place

You simply must try this spot! Delicious, flaky croissant dough with various fillings. I tried the almond croissant and it was incredible. Better than I remember from my pre-vegan days! I also had the tomato and chocolate croissant as well. Everything was absolutely perfect!

Pros: Out of this world baked goods, Many vegan options , Cute shop

5 stars if I could

I’m from NYC which is a mecca for tasty vegan food. This is among the best bakeries I’ve ever been to! I would move to this beautiful neighborhood solely to live closer to Idle Hands. What a gem of a place. Get the pain au chocolat.

Pros: Amazing vegan pastries, Great coffee , Cute outdoor seating area in a great neighborhood

Best croissants

Love this tiny bakery! Throw every other vegan version of croissant and flakey pastry you’ve ever had in the trash by comparison. Vegan options often sell out by mid day especially on weekends.

Pros: Almond croissants

Cons: Sometimes vegan options sell out

Best vegan baked goods in RVA

Every vegan dish I’ve had was incredible. The cheese danish I my favorite so far. They use local UnMoo vegan cheese and butter. Which you can buy there too.

a beautiful treat!

The vegan pastries here are the best I’ve had, better than great vegan pastries I’ve had in New York, Miami, and LA. The pain au chocolat is amazing and the savory danish had the best locally made vegan mozzarella, so soft and delicious! It was unbelievably good! The pastries are beautifully made with an artistic attention to detail. Perfection!!

Pros: Vegan pastries, danishes, cold brew, teas, great a

Cons: none

Amazing

This is one of my favorite places to get a vegan treat. Their pastries are so amazing and they have a good selection. They also have bread and pizza dough that is vegan.

Such a wonderful surprise!

I have heard good things about the bread but was unsure if there would be anything that I would be able to have there. After I saw a post that they would begin to have daily vegan offerings I decided to drop by. I got there first thing in the morning so there was plenty to choose from. I got a croissant with Tofurkey, Veganaise, and spinach. In addition to that I got a chocolate croissant. It was so flavorful and filling. My only regret is not going in to get another one.

Pros: Everything had so much flavor!

Cons: It sells out too quickly!

Vegan pastries!

I have to tell you, when I was diagnosed with a milk allergy, I was totally bummed that I could not eat anymore of IHBC's delicious pastries. THEN...IHBC made vegan pastries. I was in heaven. I have has their Chocolate au pan, almond croissant and their rye bread. So delicious, all of it. I am truly glad that IHBC decided to make vegan items so that not only I could enjoy their deliciousness, bu the rest of RVA!
