Yum yum yum yum yum - Edit
It takes a lot to fill me, and the Miso Ramen was brilliant. Thanks to the reviews here, I followed their recommendation. It was only me, so it was quick service. I love ramen and this is one of my favourites in Sydney.

Fab veg'n ramen - Edit
I've been going to Ichiban Boshi for ramen, for years. No idea why it wasn't in the Happy Cow app.
Read moreThey serve big portions for a reasonable price and they have a couple of options for vegetarians and vegans.
Do note that the veggie tofu miso ramen is not in the vegetarian section on the iPad menus, and they've never fixed that. If you go for the spicy miso ramen, It's very red and very hot. And if you eat dairy the cheese Ramen is overloaded with cheese. I always go for the plain veggie tofu miso ramen, which is one of the best anywhere.
You don't have to book a table but it is a very busy place. It's upstairs, top floor, in Galeries. They also have a fast takeaway outlet, downstairs in the food court

Pros: Great veg'n ramen
Cons: Ichiban gets very busy, and that can mean waiting

But the ramen isn’t even listed as vegetarian and the agedashi tofu is. I’d be careful of anythign being vegan here- dashi is in a lot!

That goes for pretty much all Asian food. They use fish paste, oyster sauce, anchovies, etc., as if it were salt. A lot of the time staff in Asian restaurants don't speak much English and just say yes to anything you ask. I guess it depends how strict you are.
Read moreAll I can say is that I don't like the smell or taste of anything fishy, and the veggie ramen here doesn't taste or smell fishy.
Hot tip: Asians like to put egg in everything, so it's worth asking not to get a boiled egg in your XYZ dish. Same for crab cakes and other things that they like to put on everything.

Unless they specified that they can do with no fish or oyster sauce or dashi I would not put this down as a place with vegan options

The Ramen noodles contain egg. Apparently the one in Bondi can substitute for rice noodles (so basically not Ramen anymore!) but this store said they only have egg noodles. So vegetarian Ramen but not vegan. This was a couple of years ago though but please do feel free to confirm?
