Tasty food - Edit
With the expansion of the Metro line, more inner Sydney residents may find their way to Chatswood. In early September 2024, the lunchtime offerings here were steamed rice with two vegetable dishes for $16, or, all for $18 each: rice and three side dishes; mushroom rice and two side dishes; vermicelli noodles and two dishes; or a large bowl of noodle soup. Pleasant place, tasty food and the best vege option I have found in Chatswood.

LOVE this place! - Edit
I have been dining at IBAA Chatswood - Fo Guang Yuan for years. It's such a nice, calm place. Serenity is the word I'm looking for. Monks come and go in their saffron coloured robes, everyone smiles and the food is so great you feel really good afterwards.

Delicious vegan Chinese food - Edit
I have been to this place couple of times and I usually try noodles with 2 choices. What's interesting is I get to try different choices most of the times. Be it noodles or options you have to select from are not the same.

Pretty good - Edit
A buffet style establishment. For $13.50, you can choose 3 different small meals with rice on a plate. The food is fresh and pretty nice. The staff are very welcoming and kind. It's the only vegan restaurant in Chatswood.

Only Purely Vegan Restaurant in Chatswood - Edit
As far as I know this in the only fully vegan restaurant in Chatswood (although you can veganize dishes in most places). Nice atmosphere, there is a buddhist temple upstairs and buddhist library and statues everywhere. The food is ok and reasonably priced with free tea.

Food is good but not amazing - great to have this place as an option for the area as there’s not much else around that’s vegan friendly!

Nice enough food, but not hot enough! - Edit
For $12.50 (as of 2017) you get either: plain rice with 3 choices out of different Asian dishes in Bain Maries, rice noodles w/ 2 choices, or mushroom rice w/ 2 choices. The food was nice and I like the atmosphere of the place for a quiet-ish meal alone, however understandably, the food isn't hot (maybe /just/ warm) and I went around noon.
Read moreThey also sold vegan baos (veg, and "BBQ" flavoured) and sticky rice w/fillings wrapped in banana leaves.

Loved this place! - Edit
Loved this place and can't wait to go again! I had the rice with 3 choices for $11.80. Had the eggplant, curry and bean curd. The first 2 were my faves. They give you a free piece of fruit (apple or orange) and a complimentary oolong or fruit tea. The service was so very friendly! Was told everything is vegan which is great. Hubby had the mushroom rice with 2 choices for $11.80. His rice was very filling and had a mix of whole grains in it. Tried the chicken leg for $1.20, it was amazing! Look forward to trying the noodles and 2 choices, ($11.80) and the spring rolls ($1.20) next time.

Never fails, always delicious and always wonderful - Edit
I would argue this place is THE joint for vegans, especially in chatswood. I come into chatswood a lot and always eat here for lunch.
Read moreThey have a sweet deal where you order either rice noodles (for which you can choose two sides) or rice (for which you can order 3 sides) all at 11 or so dollars.
Definitely worth your time and money, without a doubt!
The servers always pile on the food and cram as much as possible on the plate and it's always delicious. I prefer to get the rice noodles option and if its there the very mild potato based curry (delicious) and whatever else catches my eye. I can't speak higher about this place! It's always clean, the service is wonderful, chilled water and tea is always available and the food is never more or less than delicious.
If you're ever in chatswood, this is the place to go!
Pros: Delicious food for a cheap price, Great atmosphere and always clean, Customer service is fabulous
Cons: Their sign is a little hard to see

Affordable, clean and delicious - Edit
This is a lovely little vegan cafe I try to visit whenever I happen to be in Chatswood. It has limited hours, only lunchtime I think. The food is prepared just before lunchtime and kept in a Bain-Marie, so service is fast. There are generally about half a dozen veggie and tofu dishes to choose from and rice. Nice oolong tea is available for a bit extra $. The dishes are mildly flavoured but tasty. Be aware the 'brown rice' is not actually brown rice but white rice cooked with mushroom stock to colour it brown. Has a nice flavour though.
Read moreThey have some beautiful jewellery, beads etc for sale as well, but the prices are out of this world. Fortunately the food is very affordable.

good and nourishing but otherwise unremarkable. - Edit
Good news if you eat vegan - you'll get an OK meal.
Read moreLike many chinese Buddhist places, particularly in Australia, the food is ok, but uninspired. Rice and a few choices from watery bainmaries. The lunch deal of $AUD10.80 (as at November 2012) includes complimentary Fu Guang tea, but other teas are poor value.
This is a clean friendly place in the heart of a shopping area, a Buddhist shop selling books and trinkets, and also serving lunch.
If you're vegan in Australia, you rejoice when you find a rare place you can eat. But it's not special.
Pros: vegan, convenient location, clean
