Our local — some of the best vegan food in Edinburgh - Edit
A little far out and a small city area but all the food here is delicious: the falafel wrap, mezze and Lebanese bean breakfast in particular. Very friendly staff and a family owned restaurant.

Delicious, freshly-made felafels - Edit
Absolutely delicious! Had the felafel wrap (the felafels are freshly made to order, which makes all the difference) with baba ghanoush and cauliflower. They’ve also got a great selection of soft drinks, and some tempting looking vegan cakes (but I was too full after my wrap to try them!). Highly recommend! The staff were lovely too. It is a tiny, with just a few seats for sitting in, and very (justifiably) popular.

DEEEEEEEEEElicious - Edit
Friend and I went here today for lunch. I let the guy choose what to give me. Falafel wrap half hummus, half baba ganoush. Was scrumdiddlyumptious. My friend had the Lebanese lentil soup and that was stunning too. Brilliant little place and busy!

DELICIOUS - Edit
The food was incredible. The staff are lovely. The prices are affordable. I got the falafel wrap with hummus and mezze - the falafel’s are made fresh. My mouth is watering thinking of it. The lentils were tasty, the batatas were pretty good (I’d go for moussaka next time instead) and the ghanoush was incredible.
Read moreHowever, the highlight by far was the baklava. The sweetness mixed with the butter melting in your mouth was incredible. This was probably the best dessert I’ve had in my life. I also tried the maamoul. There were 2 types, date and pistachio - I preferred the pistachio. They were tasty but no match compared to the baklava.
The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, it has a cosy vibe to it and Reese is a sound, humble human being. It was a pleasure to meet him and eat his DELICIOUS food. Thank you

Go-To Lunch Spot - Edit
I adore this place, never had a bad experience. I usually get a mixed meze box for lunch, but they do wraps as well. Everything is delicious, but the baba ganoush, moussaka and lentil bake are especially fantastic and the falafel are great too. There's also a really nice selection of drinks as well.

Best place in Morningside - Edit
Small family-owned Lebanese café in the heart of the Morningside road. Selection of salads, vine leaves, spinach pasties, green beans, fattoush, (the best in town) baba ganoush and falafel wraps, hummus and others. You can also have baklawa, apple cake or crunch bar. Selections of kombuchas, ginger beers, cafés, teas and hot chocolate. All mentioned are fully vegan.

Vegan-friendly meze lunch - Edit
Hummus is a lovely wee Middle Eastern café located in the heart of Morningside. This establishment is completely vegetarian and specialises in breakfast, coffee, tea, lunch and snacks.
Read moreThe seating is pretty limited, with just a couple of bars and a small table outside. If you manage to grab a seat you can enjoy the intimate and cosy setting, but if you’re not as lucky you can always get your food to go as well.
I went a bit bananas and ordered pretty much all the vegan-friendly meze dishes: stuffed vine leaves; spinach pastry; tabbouleh; baba ganoush; and a wee bit of hummus to try. Did I over-order? Probably. Was I super-stuffed afterwards? Yes. Do I regret it? Not even a little.
I absolutely loved putting together my own little meze meal from all the options available, and when I couldn’t decide between the baba ganoush and the hummus, the kind staff gave me a little sampler to try. I personally preferred the baba ganoush, which had a lovely smoky flavour and worked really well as a dip for my pitta bread and spinach pastry. The tabbouleh salad was also lovely and fresh, and the stuffed vine leaves were delish.
Will definitely be back soon - and will try not over-order next time!
