Cambiaron la carta - Edit
Con una opción vegetariana. Acaban de cambiar la carta y ya no cuentan con opciones veganas. Una lástima

Nothing special - Edit
I did the vegan new years menu.
Read moreIt took 100 minutes until I got the last dish and in the end I was still starving.
I know it’s fine dining, but the portions were ridiculously small.
The flavor was really nothing special. Actually below average for 2/4 dishes.

Warning: do NOT eat here! - Edit
The vegan tasting menu was inedible. Reading now that the formerly all vegan restaurant was still serving vegan tasting menu gave us hope. But clearly, the new chef at this luxury property has zero interest in cooking with plants. The service was wonderful, eager and genuinely happy.
Read moreHummus course was bland, grilled sweet potato basic, mushrooms over salted, Chile relleno course was prepared with a dried passila, bitter and inedible. Finally, the black mole was a complete disaster: extremely sweet, bland with no heat or smoke, none of the subtleties that this regional dish should have.
The positive reviews of this restaurant are from the past—and the loss of an innovative vegan restaurant in a food capital is something to mourn.
DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!

Lovely patio and perfect presentation - Edit
I happened to drop by midafternoon around 2 pm when only the snacks menu was available — but wow, what a quiet and stunning inner courtyard setting! They are definitely serving meat-dishes now so be careful to ask which items are fully vegan. Both the Tostada de Coliflor and Guacamole Floral (just ask them to serve it without the little side dish of chapulines) were small but delicious treats.

Great food - Edit
There are different places to eat within the hotel. Some of the reviews here are for the 700 peso tasting menu. I didn't do that. They are offer a breakfast.
Read moreAnd they have a third floor open air terrace. I ate there twice and liked it both times. They do have a limited menu there and limited days/hours - I think just Th, Fri, Sat and Sun.
Highly recommended.
Pros: Great service, really nice terrace, Tasty food
Cons: Terrace is often overlooked, Open limited days

For foodies only - Edit
If you appreciate next level food and have an understanding of the creativity behind such a project, you’ll LOVE this place. We did. A lot of reviews mention that the food is too expensive. This level food takes so much time… you typically get what you pay for, and in this case, it’s way worth the expense. #Veganuary

Fine dining vegan experience - Edit
Fine dining tasting menu in a stylish space where you take off your shoes and sit on cushions at low tables. Dreamy and elegant.
Read more8 courses, all delicious whole food plant ingredients. The tiny acorn squash tamale with salsa macha was a real stand out for me, and the dessert with coconut cream, cake and citrus sorbet. Such a different and enjoyable experience in plant based dining.
Service was EXCELLENT - what a kind and friendly server waited on my table.
This is an 8 course tasting menu for $40USD, a mezcal will be an $10USD plus tip you’re getting a fine dining experience for around $60USD/pp which I think is an extraordinary value. TBH I can’t afford to eat at 11 Madison Park in NYC so having this option felt really special to me.
The door is a bit mysterious but give it a push or a knock and it will open. It is directly a across street from “Panadería y Pastelería”. I have posted a pic of door here on Happy Cow.
Portions are tasting portions therefore small, so it’s more for the experience than for feasting. Some vegans (like me!) might note the irony of the sheep skin rugs 😢 Yet still grateful for plant based offerings that appeal to vegans and omnivores alike.
I arrived without reservation at 6pm, but I’d say don’t chance it and make reservation.

Super caro!! Very expensive! - Edit

This was my go to place for breakfast during my time in Oaxaca. Great hours and fantastic service. Vegan takes on local Oaxacan food. They ended up giving me a free dessert because I came here so much.

No me gustó - Edit
Pedí un ceviche de lentejas y aguacate pero la verdad tenía muy poquito de estos ingredientes y en cambio demasiada cebolla, además venía muy aguado. También pedí una kombucha que no me pude tomar porque sabía realmente a vinagre.
