Best food I had in PE - Edit
I couldn’t believe how many vegan options there were to choose from. First place I found here that actually had plenty of vegan protein (tofu, seitan) and not just “vegetable” options. I had the breaded tofu which came with some sort of flavored rice and salad. Best meal I’ve had in puerto escondido. A generous amount of starters included and the sangria that I had with was also top notch. Lovely staff, view, environment. Wish I could try everything on the menu. Won’t forget this experience anytime soon!!!

Price is worth it - Edit
I got the vegan soy burger. The bread was made there as was the patty. It was very big and filling. It came with fresh and crispy toppings such as tomatoe slices, crisp pickles, lettuce and avocado. I told the waiter I wanted it vegan, so they omitted the cheese and let me know that the mayonnaise in it was vegan, which I appreciated. The food was delicious and even better paired with such a beautiful view.

It was quite expensive for what it was though.
Cocofam has the best vegan food in Escondido. But this place is great if you want a nice spot that can offer something for everyone.

Great great great - Edit
Once I “discovered” this place (thanks Happy Cow!) I kept coming back for lunch and/or dinner. Straight on delicious food, a huge choice of vega(n) dishes for a very reasonable price (70-130 pesos). I had the quesadillas (incl a portion to go), veggie tamales, outstanding stuffed chiles (not spicy), babaganoush, Milanese, and a fabulous ginger lemonade. Very attentive staff too. Enjoy!

This restaurant was AMAZING!
Read moreA large vegan selection and knowledgeable staff (I ordered bananas flambé for dessert and the waiter made sure to ask that i didn't want it with cream.)
The portion sizes were big and the view of the ocean was wonderful.
It came with a free vegan starter of bread, pico de gallo and spicy green sauce, which helped pass the (relatively short) amount of time until the main dish arrived.
Would visit again

Best spot for vegans in Puerto Escondido - Edit
I stayed there for a week and had a lovely time, it was great to walk in to the hotel restaurant and be able to choose from a range of vegan dishes every day. As other reviews point out, they make their own tofu and tempeh, and you can order vegan tamales with a couple days notice.

Hotel Santa Fe has many vegetarian selections on their menu, including tamales - cooked in banana leaves - tofu curry, and stuffed eggplant. Pricey, but good service and a lovely setting. Great special occasion location. We had christmas eve dinner there and they had fantastic live music.

Wonderful Place - Edit
My husband and I ate here twice during our three day stay in PE. The restaurant is beautiful and overlooks Zicatela Beach.
Read moreThe staff were very friendly, and the vegetarian and vegan options were clearly marked. I asked for a veganized version of the mole enchiladas, and the waiter offered to replace the cheese with tofu. They were wonderful. My husband ordered a seitan roulade type dish that he loved. They also supplied fresh bread and fresh salsas.
On our second visit, we ordered the tofu sandwich, the tempeh sandwich, and the potatoes and tomatoes dish, all of which were delicious.
I would highly recommend this place!
Pros: Mole, Ambience, Clearly marked options
Cons: Prices are high for the area

Under par... - Edit
I have eaten here twice. The staff are very friendly and the hotel itself is pretty..... and that is about it. I think the menu may have been created a long time ago and has become very dated. It is awesome to have a vegan selection, but both times my meal was sloppy and kind of hard to stomach. I say this with sadness because I returned for the second round thinking, "maybe I chose a weird dish, thats why it wasn't good"... The first time I chose a seitan dish and the second time I chose a curry. My partner is omni and did not enjoy either of our visits either. I hope a fresh menu can revive this place as it is a great spot to watch the sunset.
