Pasta is not vegan - Edit
We tried to order the pasta dish with mushrooms. But after telling the kitchen we are vegan, they said the tagliatelle is made using egg and not vegan (even though it is labeled as vegan on the menu. They said only the Dahl and the Curry are completely vegan.

Good choice in lovely location - Edit
The hotel itself and the ambiente is really beautiful. They offer some well marked vegan fresh dishes and the waitresses were very helpful with giving information to seasonal dishes! A bit pricey, would recommend for a more classy/romantic dinner!

Calm oasis, great views with decent veg food options - Edit
We stayed at Atrio during our stay in Madeira and dined several evening in the hotel restaurant. The big plus is the nice outdoor terrace with views on the ocean. The restaurant offers a full vegetarian/vegan menu with a mix of different cuisines. The food is not extraordinary (some dishes are a bit bland) but it is well prepared with fresh veggies from the garden. We tried several pasta dishes, Indian dhal and curry, zucchini fritters and gnocchi. The soups are also very good.

Very stylish, decent veggie options - Edit
This is a lovely, classy small hotel with a restaurant offering several good vegetarian options. The food was of a decent standard so it deserves a visit if you are in Western Madeira (which is generally not very veggie-friendly). And they have plant milk for hot drinks, also a rarity on this part of the island!
