OMG, I have missed such nice cakes! - Edit
We came in to try the Durian cake, but this was not available. Took another one and another one... this is cake heaven. A must go in Singapore.

Tasty slice of vegan cake - Edit
Enjoyed a yummy slice of tiramisu cake as a quick pit stop. Their cakes are labelled vegan - free from dairy and egg. I’m often disappointed by vegan cake that is dense/flat/lacking flavour, this didn’t disappoint. The cake was so fluffy and flavourful; it’s really a very well made vegan cake.

decent cake - Edit
Having spent millions of years not having cake, I think if I get something half decent I go overboard.
Read moreHad a tiramasu and a blueberry cake( I shard I'm not that gutsy) and both were really good.
Light sponge and soy cream also so light it felt like the stuff you used to get in a can. Plentybof blueberry and coffee toppings both were delicious.
All three cakes available were vegan but a lot of smaller bites were not, however they weee marked accordingly.
I left satisfied and yet not over full, go on, try some.
Two years on and back again. I wasn't as impressed as I was last time. A black forest gateaux and a tiramisu cake were both decent but not outstanding. It was mainly the cream which tasted like the vegan tinned squirty cream in a tin and was too light and fluffy for cake (imo).
Vegan cakes have come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years and hot cakes is much the same. Which is decent but not worldy.
Pros: Location, Vegan cake, Staff

Used to love their vegan blueberry cake but it’s no longer vegan :( - Edit
- Their cakes were really fluffy & the cream wasn’t the type you’d get sick of after awhile

Great cakes - Edit
The cakes were really good. I have a hard time believing it’s vegan because it’s so fluffy lol. It’s expensive tho. $15 for 3 not so big cakes. Would come again.

Poor service - Edit
Went during the non-peak hour, with only one other customer in the shop. Yet the service was slow and the Chinese uncle was not attentive and unhelpful. Overheard the uncle giving varied pricing for the cakes to different customers, which was really despicable. The nasi lemak that i tasted seems like it just came out from the microwave. Very disappointed with the whole eating experience. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing vegan dessert - Edit
I only ate dessert at Hot Cakes - there are so many great veggie restaurants to choose from in this shopping center - but the vegan caramel cake was amazing. I can't believe it is vegan - it's so light and fluffy and the caramel tastes just like I remember regular caramel tasting! There was a great selection of other cakes and cupcakes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Love this place!! - Edit
Thinking back to the food here makes me drool and want to go back to Singapore just for the soul purpose of eating here everyday again! I ate pretty much everything on the menu and it was always on point! The vegan pizzas are sooo delicious and prices are great. I also had a few of the curries and they were so good, if you are a transitioning vegan and missing animal meat then this place has the perfect soy based meat alternatives for you.

Yum - Edit
I've had everything on the menu, the Asian style dishes and cakes are the best. eg. chicken rice or nasi biryani are both great. Out of the pizzas the best is the tandoori pizza with vegan cheese. i suggest sharing the dishes with a friend, and get a cake afterwards! The blueberry vanilla cake and the cookies/cream cake were fluffy and soft. Not dry at all, one of the best vegan cakes I've tried! Worth a look :)

didn't meet my expectations - Edit
Went there because of the positive reviews, but wasn't too impressed. Staff was really nice, but kind of slow. I had the meatball pizza with vegan cheese, which took about 40 minutes (it was around noon and they had to preheat the oven first). The meatballs were good, great flavour and consistency, but that was about it. The pizza dough was super dry, like I felt I need one liter of water to get it down, the cheese was super salty and not melted at all and there was too little tomato sauce on it. The portion was really small too and I had to go for a second lunch afterwards (food stall in Albert Center). The pizza was $12,90, for that high price I definitely expect more.

Magnificent meatballs! - Edit
Excellent cafe in the fantastic Fortune Centre. We went for lunch and got the tomato spaghetti meatballs and meatball pizza with vegan cheese to share, which were both delicious. The tomato sauce was so rich in flavour, amazing considering no garlic or onions were used, whilst the meatballs had a great texture and so 'real' like. We also got the rojak. which was a mixture of crunchy fruit and vegetables with chopped peanuts and sticky sauce, which again was tasty but the portion size was massive, so we took it home for later. In total we spent about $15 in total. Hotcakes also offer a variety of vegan cakes such as tiramisu, green tea cake, blueberry cheesecake for $3 each. My wife got the tiramisu twice during our stay, as it was so nice.

Hot Cakes - Edit
Not overly happy with the food we had. Had to ask which is vegan (So not 100% Vegan) Next door is Tracy's my favourite juice place. Highly recommend.
Read moreMy partner didn't eat the mushroom burger, The bun was doughy. Pasta with tomato topping was average, pasta very al dente. Don't think will return.
The owner Arati says he's vegan. But menu not.
Pros: clean, next to Tracy's
Cons: menu on wall needs prices, some dairy in cakes and mains, no fresh juices

Fantastic New Addition to Fortune Centre! - Edit
HotCakes is a terrific new addition. Serving vegan food and a few vegan desserts (Be sure to ask which is which) this cafe is not to be missed.
Read moreOur first visit we tried the burger ($4) which was absolutely mouth watering. The curry was incredibly flavorful as well. (Also $4) We also ordered their pizza which was jam packed full of ingredients and even had vegan 'sheese'. ($7)
We also tried their tiramsu cake and green tea cake. If you're after a more traditional / fluffy style cake these are the best vegan ones I I've had in Singapore.
The staff were prompt and friendly. It's a cozy cafe with seating for about 16 inside the cafe and another 8 or 10 outside in the hallway.
The food was so good we ate it straight away and forgot to take pictures! We'll be sure upload some pictures when we go next.
Don't miss HotCakes!
Pros: Terrific food, Great value for money, Friendly staff
Cons: None from our first visit.
