Great vegan option near Smoky Mountains! - Edit
Hot Rods has an amazing, separate vegan menu! They have Beyond burgers, and a variety of veggies burgers. The best part is the vegan ice cream! Banana split, sundae, and even milkshakes! Great stop if you're near Maryville, TN!

MUST eat here when in town - Edit
Be sure to ask for the separate vegan menu! I ordered the beyond bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious! I went for the vegan banana split afterwards too. I’ve been vegan for 6 years and have never seen a vegan banana split on a menu anywhere. So neat!highly recommend for the vibes and the food.

Not only were the servers accommodating and nice, but the atmosphere was very cool with the whole fifties feel. The food was delicious, and there were a lot of non dairy options. Non dairy desserts, too! The kids loved it.

Separate Vegan Menu & Great Vibes!!!!! - Edit
I found this place on the HappyCow app, and was blown away by a 50s Diner that had a separate full vegan menu on top of all of the other options! Fun atmosphere, large portions, and delicious food! What a great experience!

This was pretty exciting. I saw on here that people were saying there’s a menu if you ask, so I did.
Read moreIt was a fairly basic menu, but keep in mind this is an old fashioned diner. My omni-husband had so many options as well. So it was a nice nostalgic dinner. I was most impressed with the dessert menu, it’s nice to go to an omni restaurant and have dessert. I haven’t had a sundae in so long! 😋 #Veganuary
Pros: Extremely reasonably priced, Dessert!
Cons: Basic menu

Hidden gem in Tennessee! There aren’t a ton of options for us when we stay outside the Smokies, so we we’re excited to find this restaurant! We stopped on the way down, and it didn’t disappoint! A whole vegan menu with desserts included! We had the veggie burger which is homemade and delicious 😋 highly recommend the fries as well! For dessert: vegan smoothies and sundaes! Our server was amazing! The whole staff was very friendly. Highly recommend stopping if you’re in the area.

Average but grateful - Edit
Let me start by saying we’re from California. My husband and I are both vegan. We’re grateful this place exists and has a vegan menu. We’ve had a difficult time finding good vegan food in this area (we spent a lot of time in Knoxville too, nothing good there).
Read moreThe food at this diner was okay. Nothing to write home about. They use incognito meat & a variety of black bean Pattie’s & veggie Pattie’s for your vegan options. The milkshakes and desserts alone are AMAZING & on point with what we’re used to back home. But the food is just eh. But we don’t have many great options around here. This place is different the best this areas got to offer

Classic Diner with a hidden vegan personality. - Edit
Went with our family of four. Asked for the vegan menu (thanks to a review on here) and ordered. My kids enjoyed their choices. My wife and I both ordered vegan (double green burger with sweet potato fries, black bean burger with fries.) Our burgers were homemade and filling. I have no major complaints. Seriously the food was good. It was just not wow, we totally have to come back. It is place that we will certainly go back to with its wide selection, atmosphere and wonderful staff. There are plants more options for us to try as well.

Deserves 5 Stars! - Edit
Any restaurant in an otherwise vegan food desert that provides a full ass vegan menu gets my approval. I had been hiking and running today in the mountains so I was ravenous. The incogmeato burger and sweet potato fries with a vegan ice cream sundae dessert was perfect. I’ll definitely come back with my whole family next time I’m in town.

I've heard that the owner is vegan and that is the reasoning behind having their own vegan menu for all of us😄the burgers are really good but the desserts are amazing. Tried a shake and a banana split and loved them!

I was super surprised to find a restaurant like this with a full vegan menu, but am delighted it exists. Vegan burgers and salads are the main food items available, but they also had a good selection of vegan milkshake flavors, which were delicious! Would recommend and would visit again.

An entire vegan menu! - Edit
The owner of Hot Rods is vegan and so takes special care of our plant-based community. The vibe is a fun 50's diner and they offer plant-based burgers, salads, grilled cheese, spaghetti, and a long list of vegan sides. If that doesn't fill you up, they offer multiple vegan shakes, floats, and sundaes. A go-to place for our family.

Wonderful decor, but the vegan food leaves a little to be desired. - Edit
Walked into see some wonderful decor and be greeted by very pleasant servers. Asked for the vegan menu. The fries were greasy, the black bean burger was bland, the grilled cheese with jalapeños sandwich was enjoyable but skimpy. Unfortunately, wouldn’t go back.
