Mixed thoughts on this one - Edit
Soooo I had really high hopes for this one. So I’ll start off by saying the owners were SUPER sweet and accommodating, which is surprisingly uncommon in my experiences lately. Nobody seems to have basic customer service skills anymore, but they were very nice. I thought I was going to an actual Chinese restaurant, and did not realize it was a shared kitchen. So when I came back to pick my food up , they were still working on it and were nuking the food!!!!! I thought it was going to be stir fried fresh in a wok…. Not nuked. My heart sank!!!! The food itself was Extremely spicy, which I personally am not a fan of, and EXTREMELY Salty, which I usually like, but this was even too much for me unfortunately. The seitan was ok, but I prefer bean curd….& DO NOT want anything microwaved. I could not finish it due to above said reasons. Again, super nice ppl so I would have loved to support in the future, but not my jam.

Vegan Options - Edit
Plenty of vegan options. Food is very flavorful. Friendly owners. I just wish the vegan options were marked on the menu. The owner appreciated my feedback on this, and said she'll make it clearer on the menu. The owner said there is no milk or whey in the kitchen, so the battered vegetarian meat options do not contain milk/whey. Perhaps the previous owners used to based on older reviews. Has new location - 1615 E Kalamazoo St, Lansing, MI 48823.

Okay - Edit
The chicken general tso was just okay to me. It’s like seitan, which tends to get a bit chewy in these cases. Kinda rather have tofu.

watch out - Edit
Love Chinese food and they have good meatless options, but they refuse to define the meatless ingredients to see if it is truly vegan. We have asked over and over, and they don't care to answer or don't understand. we think there is milk, egg and maybe fish in most of the offerings, but are not sure. Also, the staff wold rather talk on their cell phones than wait on customers, and the place needs a good cleaning.

Cons: Could use a good cleaning, Inattentive staff, refusal to define the food ingredients

I’d give them five stars if I could. - Edit
The food was sooo good. No oyster sauce or fish sauce used and you can taste the difference. I’ve had a few places claim vegan, and use oyster/fish sauce anyway. These guys are the real deal.

Awesome food! - Edit
This place is great (albeit a bit pricey) for vegans! The veggie meat options are great. Be careful of the breaded options though - the batter contains milk products (whey I believe). Definitely recommend!

Excellent Fake Meats - Edit
We love the "beef" with green beans and sesame "chicken". Mixed luck with the pork. Vegetable egg rolls are great. Vegetable fried rice seems to be largely white rice with soy sauce, but the vegetables in it are great.

good veggie meat options - Edit
veggie meat is vegan if unbreaded! many of the options come unbreaded too, we pay extra to go without the veggie orange chicken though because it's so good.

Incomparable quality! - Edit
This restaurant provides a certain degree of quality and elegance that, truth be told, probably surpasses that of Hong Kong its self. Above all, Hong Kong provides a remarkable selection for vegans and non-vegans alike; most notably, they offer a remarkable menu of analogue meats from "fish" to "duck" to "pork" and on. Over all, if you're visiting Lansing, please consider Hong Kong to satisfy your dining needs.
