Bright and sunny spot - Edit
This was a great, little, outta the way spot in Roanoke. It is a very welcoming with an open kitchen. We got mozzarella sticks, the crab cakes with Cole slaw and mock meatball sub with mushroom and onion and sweet potato tots on the side. The Cole slaw was amazing. Good portions and no complaints. For desert we got peanut butter crunch and coconut cakes. Moist and delicious! Nice hidden little gem!

A Hidden Treasure - Edit
Tucked into a small, non-descript retail strip on Franklin Road (next to Alien Aquatics) is a charming vegan restaurant with a creative and ever changing menu. We have ordered curbside many times and have been consistently impressed by both their consistency as well as their new weekly specials. We like their version of the "Impossible Burger" and appreciate the quality of their fresh produce. We also have enjoyed their "Meatloaf" as well as their "TLT/Tempeh-Lettuce-Tomato Sandwich". The item that we love the most is their "Coconut Cake" which is moist, sweet and creamy. It reminds us of Tres Leches. We have heard from flexitarian and non-vegetarian friends that they too have been impressed with Honestly Vegan. If you're looking for a new dining experience that is delicious, good for you and good for the environment you cannot possibly do better than supporting this small family business venture.

Sooo yummy! - Edit
A cute little family owned restaurant with top notch food! I’ve been vegan for years and have never seen jalapeño poppers! The crab cakes and fish sandwich are next level. They make all the dipping sauces and dressings in house. Get the strawberry crunch cake!

Okay but a little mixed - Edit
From all of the other reviews, I was excited to try this spot in my hometown and bought food for myself, my partner, and my mom and her partner, so we got a good amount of food to base this review on. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich, we also had a meatball sub, the Philly cheesesteak, and an impossible burger, along with a side of fries and a piece of strawberry crunch cake. The only thing we didn’t like were the fries, which were just oddly soft and not really seasoned at all. The best thing we got was the cake which I really loved. It seems like the sandwiches on the menu have less of the “in house” made components which is fine, they were all still tasty, but felt like a little bit of a let down and were a little on the small side. I think the cheesesteak was the best sandwich out of those four. From reviews it sounds like the mac and cheese and chicken salad type dishes are the ones to try in the future. We got our order as take out and were also a little disappointed everything was in styrofoam containers. Overall not my favorite vegan restaurant ever, but I definitely want to go back and try more since it seems like their desserts especially are worth while.

Best Vegan Place So Far - Edit
Okay so I’ve been a vegan for over a year now (as I’m writing this post), and a friend of mine who’s a vegetarian and lives in Roanoke told me about this place. It had recently opened and I traveled up from my hometown to try it out. The food there? Exquisite. Their vegan hot dogs are my favorite so far, alongside their vegan chicken salad. I went back again a few days later and it’s just beyond words. We need more vegan restaurants like this. Heck, I want to open one myself. I will continue going to this restaurant whether it’d be me just traveling through or just wanting to come into the city.

My husband and I are a week into this vegan diet. Traveling through Roanoke and I am looking for dinner. Found this place. Y’all….it’s the best. I had the BBQ with slaw and Mac & Cheese ( I soooo needed some Mac&Cheese too). My meat eating husband had the meatloaf special with green beans, mash potatoes and rolls. He even wipes the plate clean with his roll 😂 Neither plate disappointed. We could NOT tell. The owners were super friendly. Chatted with both of them. ( Thank you for all the tips and fun conversation.). So very glad we went a little out of our way to find this quant vegan restaurant. Even took some strawberry dessert for the road. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

So excited to have this restaurant in Roanoke!!!! - Edit
We were so excited to try Honestly Vegan and it lived up to our expectations!!! I had the BBQ with slaw and a side of potato salad. My husband had a chick’n sandwich and homemade fries. And my son, a very picky eater, had nuggets and fries and LOVED them. The food is delicious, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the owners/staff are super friendly. We plan to be regulars!

Vegan fast food place - Edit
I went here for a first date. It was quiet and the decor was nice and fresh. Menu is small. They serve mostly vegan versions of typical fast food fare. I got the black bean sloppy joe and tater tots, and my date got the bbq and fries. We both enjoyed our food. Staff was very friendly. I was happy to support a local business and will definitely go back, especially to try a desser.

Classic homestyle vegan food - Edit
Found this great little restaurant along 220 in Roanoke. The staff was very welcoming and enthusiastic, and offered us samples before we decided what to eat. My husband got the BBQ sandwich and loved the Cole slaw so much that he got 1lb to go! I had the chicken salad sandwich which was awesome. I took a piece of coconut cake to go and it was delicious! Very inexpensive and such a sweet little place - would definitely recommend!

Fantastic - Edit
Just had dinner with my mom (meat eater) and we both absolutely loved it. We got the loaded chili dog and the crispy chicken sandwich. The chili was Coney Island style and tasted exactly like the real thing. The crispy chicken was indeed super crispy and delicious. The fries are fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Also loved the creamy, flavorful potato salad. Then we finished off with the best coconut cake I think I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back and have the brownies, cookies, pineapple upside down cake and whatever else they might be baking up. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and we loved talking with them. I’ll be back every time I visit Roanoke. Only wish we had a place like this in Wake Forest, NC.
