Veganer Käse gegen Aufpreis - Edit
Veganen Käse gibt es nur gegen Aufpreis (2). Die Vegetaria ist ganz gut, aber 9,90 Euro plus 2 Euro Euro dafür recht teuer. Es ist keine aufwändige (wie bei Pizza Zampano oder Rund & Bunt) oder besonders große Pizza. Auf der Karte ist keine explizit vegane Pizza, zum Beispiel ganz ohne Käse. Ich bin kein Fan von Käse-Alternativen. Da wäre etwas mit Hummus oder mehr Tomatensoße schon gut. Halt etwas, das auch ohne Käse genug fett und „Saftigkeit“ bietet. Gelegentlich mal ganz gut, aber kein veganes Highlight.

Great Italian pizza - Edit
This place offers Italian pizza made in a traditional log wood oven. You can add vegan cheese for 1€ extra. I always had the vegetarian pizza with lots of vegetables on it plus vegan cheese. You can pretty much customise your own vegan pizza just adding vegetables and vegan cheese. My pizza was always really delicious so I can definitely recommend this place.

The vegan ("Veganem") cheese tasted like the dairy kind. Great find with a fun lively atmosphere in the middle of a quiet suburban area. Walking distance to Messe.

I came here not really knowing what to expect because the other reviews are a bit old. The pizza was AMAZING. I had no problems ordering a vegan pizza, it says on the menu that all food can be served with vegan cheese for 1€ extra.

First of all, the pizza tastes great. Variations for vegans could be more creative, but everyone is free to create her or his own special with wilmersburger pizzaschmelz.
Read moreWhat I really do not appreciate, is staff mocking about plant based diets, in front of fully occupied tables. I consider that extremely unprofessionel and potentially embarrassing for the customer. After talking to them I got the impression that they think the only reason to leave dairy products out of diets are lactose intolerance and other "illnesses".
Spiritually, the still have got a long way to go, but I can cope with that and enjoy a pizza once in a while...
Update:
They seem to be used to vegan customers by now. Although I am sure there is no more understanding of the background/benefit of plant based diets, they seem to be proud of their returning vegan customers and groups of regulars.
Improved the rating to 3.5 (4) cows... ;-))

The pizza was probably the best vegan pizza we've ever had. The staff were really friendly towards us, although they did roll their eyes a bit at our veganism and foreignness :)

I found the same with the staff rolling their eyes about me ordering the wilmers cheese (i never explained to them about the vegan thing, just ordered the veg pizza) they are quite friendly in there and I have been a couple times, but wish they had a better attitude towards veganism, it would bring them so much business!
