delightful cafe & delicious food! - Edit
We were delighted to discover this cafe. We came hungry after not finding vegan food on our day trip to Karatsu. The cafe is very cute (as everyone says). It’s the owner’s house and a lot of care is put into all of the details. We ordered the tempeh burger, Japanese curry, and cream cake. Everything was super delicious, satisfying, and freshly prepared. The food is clearly made with fresh ingredients and with lots of care and intention. The cake wasn’t overly sweet, just perfect. We also got muffins for takeaway to enjoy for tomorrow’s breakfast. 😋
Read moreI definitely recommend making an excuse to find your way here. It’s so close to the train station. And the woman who owns the place does speak English 🙂 I didn’t know until I was paying and then we had a lovely chat.
Pros: Delicious food, Prepared with care and love , Cute cafe

I really like the peaceful vibes. The food is nice and the soy meat(i ate burger) tasted almost like an actual meat that I was surprised. The cake is very delicious.

Happy vegan haven! - Edit
Cozy cafe with super delicious food! Have been here several times now. Tried their pizza and all of their burgers. All are good! Desserts are yummy too. It's a little out of the way, but worth the trek out. Take the 113 bus from Hakata Station and get off at 友泉中学校前 (Yusen Junior High School) and it's a short walk from the bus stop. I like their book and comic collection too (in Japanese). Enjoy!

Amazing food - Edit
This place is a little gem. Great atmosphere inside, interesting decor and lots of cat pics and books about cats. But the best part is the vegan pizza - it’s stunning. We also got cakes since it was my birthday, and they were superb as well. This is where I’m headed as soon as I get back to Fukuoka.

Hiruneko is one of Fukuoka’s best vegan restaurants! The meals are healthy (but not tooo healthy) – amazing Double Katsu Burger plate, pizza with vegan cheese, gluten free cakes, delicious drinks etc... The interior is very cute and the two owners/chefs are cute too!

All Vegan adorable cafe - Edit
Menu is all in Japanese, so I tried to rely on Google Translate. I knew I ordered Tempeh, what they brought was amazing. Tempeh burger with side salad, some tempura and roasted potatoes. (Top item on right page of food). I see others mention pizza, but I didn't see anything translate into pizza when ordering. I got a soy cappuccino and they served nice cold water with my meal. Very nice staff. 6 tables in restaurant and lots of books to peruse at your leisure. No cats wondering about, just cat decorations.

Had the miso Katsu korokke burger. It was amazingly good, and only ¥800! If I lived nearby I'd go every single day. Walked over an hour from Hakata Station, but was totally worth it!

Cat-themed vegan restaurant - Edit
Hiruneko Shokudou (ひるねこ食堂) literally means Cat Eatery. Stepping into Hiruneko Shokudou is an attractively unusual experience. Their decorations are unique and centered around cats, and every piece of furniture and fittings are special and one of its kind. Most of the furnishings are made of wood, and their design is different from one another. We ordered their vegan pizza and it was really good, esp the vegan cheese. The natto fried rice was excellent also. This is a pet friendly restaurant, and the owners are kind and animal lovers. You can read more about this restaurant in my blog here:

1st Vegan Pizza - Edit
I had learned about this restaurant a while back and finally got the chance to go here recently. I had their pizza(fully vegan), and a chocolate cake with strawberry cream(vegan & gluten-free). The pizza had a pleasantly surprising smell of melted cheese. It tasted pretty good, but was a bit messy; 7/10. However the highlight for me was the cake, it was wonderfully sweet (great for satisfying my sweet-tooth), the texture was perfectly soft, and not heavy at all; 9/10. Although the restaurant isn't located in a popular area, I would definitely recommend people to take the time to come here if they're ever in Fukuoka.

A must go - Edit
The food here is incredible, I would rate it 6/5 stars if I could. Definitely, DEFINITELY worth the visit. Such a beautiful, warm little eclectic restaurant that seats about 12-15 people. The burgers are to die for, their pizza is probably one of the best vegan pizzas I've had to date. The lovely owners are so kind and hospitable. We've gone two nights in a row so far and will continue going for the rest of our stay here in Fukuoka. Arigatou Gozaimasu ?? Love from Melbourne ❤️

Great Vegan Restaurant - Edit
This all-vegan restaurant is run by friendly, vegan owners who are clearly passionate about promoting veganism in Japan. It serves a delicious range of Western and fusion meals (and perhaps some Japanese?) in a charming little cafe with a cat theme (hence the name of the restaurant). Their pizza, with vegan cheese, is the best in Fukuoka.
