Well-prepared Nepali and Indian dishes with many vegan options

On the very extensive menu, five starters and almost 30 mains are marked vegetarian. It looks as though a good half of them are vegan or can be made vegan. Despite the lack of a vegan symbol on the printed menu, our server seemed well-versed in what vegan means and readily agreed to ask the kitchen to make items vegan that are marked as vegetarian. (Of course, dishes based on paneer or a ghee-based sauce aren't convertible.) We thoroughly enjoyed a starter, two mains, and two orders of bread, all vegan, namely: samosas with a sesame sauce on the side, chana saag (a classic Indian curry made with chickpeas, spinach, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, and warm spices), multi-bean masala (eight kinds of bean in a spicy sauce), and whole-grain roti. All were delicious and beautifully prepared. The service was good and the ambience was cozy. Outdoor seating was available.

Pros: Tasty, unusual vegan dishes, Generous portions, Reasonable prices

Really nice authentic food

The food here was really nice and flavourful. We love places that take longer to cook so it soaks up all the awesome flavours. Only about 20-25 (nothing major). Would definitely come again.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Not sure if there are actually vegan options

Waiter initially said all the VG options were vegan than when we asked what V stood for she changed her mind V stands for vegetarian and G for gluten free. There wasn't a symbol for vegan and she just walked off before we could ask what was vegan. Her complete disinterest and apparent lack of awareness that we if a customer asks about what is vegan they actually want an answer made us very concerned- even if we went to the counter to ask again that we were not confident the food actually was vegan. May just be that one waiter but without a clear menu it was impossible for us to know.

Tofu and tempeh options

A nice little restaurant with 6 vegan options. We had gado gado tofu and a curry, both were good. Not cheap - around $25 a dish. Both gluten free

Pros: Several good vegan and gluten-free options

Cons: Expensive

Hot curries & a nice change....

The Himalayan based options on the menu here were a nice change from regular Indian curries. Friendly service with a good range of Vegan mains & starters clearly marked on the menu. Other Veggie options can be made Vegan on request too.We ordered a 'medium' & a 'hot'....it was hot!Starters are $6-7 & mains around $15-18. A clean, fresh restaurant with friendly staff.Tasty food. We enjoyed it & would dine there again.

Pros: Good service. Nice portion sizes.

Cons: No Vegan desserts
