Serves meat, vegan options available. Just off the main street is a small family-owned restaurant that offers, on one side of the menu, the vegetarian and vegan choices, and displays the "vegan" logo. This section of the menu lists many choices, including traditional Indian and Nepalese dishes. The veggie momos are vegan, and several of the other appetizers are, as well. They also have nightly specials. The food is served in a traditional way with jasmine/basmati rice. Entrees without the vegan demarkation can be made vegan. Let them know your dietary preferences as rice pudding containing dairy is given out with many entrees but will be substituted for pineapple for vegans. The servers are helpful, and the kitchen will accommodate special dietary requests whenever possible. It is a small restaurant, in a very busy international tourist area. Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm.

Needs More Flavor, But Not Bad - Edit
Started off with the vegetarian samosas. These were made perfectly with a crisp outside and perfectly cooked inside. I ordered the Tikka Masala with tofu and asked to make it vegan since it stipulated a vegan option on the menu. I don't usually see tofu options at Inidian restaurants, so this piqued my curiosity. There was not much spice flavor. I'm not talking about the spiciness but the actual complexity and presence of your typical Indian spices. I gathered this was due to being in a tourist-heavy town, so they otped to lessen the flavor to better suit all palates. My wife, who is not vegan, also said her dish lacked the desired Indian flavor, so it was not just my dish.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Tofu options, too
Cons: Tikka masala needs more flavor

Good option - Edit
The server was extremely good with dealing with vegan options. Offers a wide selection of vegan options, all extremely tasty and vegetable based. The portion sizes could do with some adjustments, but I was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the food.

Lunch special was a great deal! - Edit
They had two vegan lunch specials when we went - chana masala and aloo gobi. The special usually comes with naan and rice but since they can't make the naan vegan, they brought us extra rice. For $11 the special was a great deal, the curry was enough for two meals for us. The server was also very friendly!

Mixed Bag - Edit
Himalayan Curry is on the Main Street and offers a combination plates, however the yoghurt and naan portion are not vegan (you can sub chickpeas for the dairy and purchase roti).
Read moreThe samosa and daal were by far my favorite. The bangan bharta and Chana masala were no bueno. The former is mushy and the latter tastes likes it’s from a can.

Excellent - Edit
There are a large number of vegetarian and vegan dishes listed in the menu. The (non-vegan) rice pudding seems to come with every dish, so state that you do not want it if that is an issue for you.

No vegan options when we went July 4th weekend - Edit
Although reviews of this place and their website says they have vegan options, we came in dinner time and they had no vegan options that night (Sat night, July 4th weekend) as everything on the menu was not vegan.
Read moreThe server didn't seem to know what vegan was as he was suggesting vegetarian options and gluten-free options.
I'd recommend calling in to see if they have vegan options for that day/night. Otherwise, you may be unlucky like I did.

Lovely place, well labeled, but vegans stay alert - Edit
My aunt and mom and I stopped here after hiking and I was really impressed with how the menu labeled the vegan stuff and explained how to make vegan modifications. I noticed the rice pudding on the menu wasn’t vegan, so it was disappointing when a tiny tub of it showed up on my platter and my mom’s platter, after we had discussed our vegan modifications with our server since we’re, you know, vegan. When I confirmed with our server that’s what it was, he apologized and was about to take them away when my aunt snagged them. I don’t think our entrees were compromised, I think they just stick those on everyone’s plates.
Read moreI ordered the second to most spicy, which was good. Mom asked for mild and liked hers. We also got an order of samosas, which were really nice.

Tikka Masala Heaven - Edit
While there was a little bit of a communication barrier at first, once I just stuck to the menu, I ended up getting an awesome meal.
Read moreWe ordered the Samosas to start which were typical, good samosas. The sauces are vegan, but seemed watered down, so not as good as I’m use to.
The Tikka Masala with tofu, sub coconut milk was amazing. I’m usually not a big fan of coconut flavor, but it was great. I could have downed a lot more, but truly didn’t need to as the portion sizes were just fine (including the app).
There is a picture on here of a noodle dish - that CANNOT be made vegan.

Labeled vegan options, delicious food! - Edit
We always stop at Himalayan Curry and Kebob when we are in Estes. We really enjoyed our lunch there the other day! The menu has been recently been updated and the vegan options (or modifications) are clearly labeled. The food we tried was so good!! It really hit the spot after a hike in RMNP. My only concern is that what the waitress told us and what the menu said about what was vegan did not quite line up. We needed to double check what was vegan once it arrived. Just proceed with caution.

Not impressed - Edit
Well maybe I had a new chef or something, but my meal was very underwhelming. My samosas were cold on the inside (didn’t feel like being “difficult” so I just ate them) and had just a boring flavor. I also got a lunch special with Veggie curry but the flavor was just tomato-y and boring, wished I had gotten the Chana Masala since that had good reviews.

Sooo yummy - Edit
We got three veganized curries to share amongst three people (saag, tikka masala, korma), plus the daal soup and veggie samosas. Everything was amazing!
Read moreA few notes: we got the mild spice level for the curries because I’m a wimp, but even for me it wasn’t spicy enough. Definitely get at least the mild level of spice. Also, to veganize the curries, coconut cream was used which made the tikka in particular quite coconut-y. It was still amazing, but definitely distinguishable from non-vegan tikka.
Pros: Lots of vegan options
Cons: Up charge for vegan options

Tasty food but - Edit
Food was tasty but as seen in other reviews, we were served kheer despite stating that we were vegan (including with a vegan-labelled dish on the menu) - the server was apologetic but clearly did not understand vegan, which undermined our confidence for the other dishes. Subbing cream for coconut cream in dishes means quite a lot of the menu can be made vegan but costs an extra $1.95 (this is stated on the menu).

Delicious vegan options! - Edit
We loved this place and came here twice. We especially loved the veggie samosas, pappadams, vegan saag (made with tofu and coconut milk!), and definitely get the vegan tikka masala. Our server was Shivani and she was helpful and friendly. We wish the naan was vegan, because we love carbs in all its forms, but we’re just thankful for having vegan choice here!

Best meal we've had in Estes Park! - Edit
Himalayan Curry & Kebob had the best meal we've had during our stay in Estes Park, CO. We got the chana masala, samosas, and tofu fries, which were super flavorful! The price we paid for the amount of food we received was super reasonable. This is definitely a spot we will hit up next time we're in town!

Curry for When You're Not in a Hurry - Edit
I wanted the Daal Soup, but they were out (perhaps because they were closing within the hour), so I ordered the Vegetarian Samosa. It took a while to receive our food, but there were a lot of customers. The samosas were kind of bland, but they are served with two sauces--I think tamarind and mint chutney.

Yummy warm food on a snowy evening. - Edit
The venue is small but the ambiance is cozy and comfortable. My partner and I enjoyed the dumplings, chana masala, and a curry with tofu. The food had a different flavor than most Indian food we have had and we really liked having leftovers to bring home. Overall, a great place for vegans to eat just be wary of the Kheer having cream in it. We asked for extra fruit in exchange for the Kheer.

They have a straight forward menu, but it’s a lot easier to understand all of their potential options by going in. Seems like most of their vegan options are modifications of existing dishes

Delicious and knowledgeable about dietary restrictions - Edit
