It's Ok.. - Edit
I really don't like giving negative reviews, but we were a bit disappointed coming here after reading all the reviews. Don't get me wrong portion sizes are big for what you pay for, but everything was just so oily, like more oily than you'd typically expect for Thai food. The spring rolls where nice, filled and huge, but also far too oily to handle. My partner got the fried rice, and the rice was mushy and overly garlic and oily.

Hope whoever goes next gets better!

Best place on the island! - Edit
Open the whole year and the whole day: for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Biggest portions on the island, cheap and so tasty. We love the curries, springrolls, fried rice, yellow noodles, the coconut dessert. And the place is so cute with a great location (a couple minutes before Charlie's beach). And lastly, the owners - mother of 6 and her daughters are the sweetest. And their english is great!

Loved it - Edit
We loved the food! The portions are big, but you can take food to go. The people who work there are so kind and funny. The restaurant is on top of a hill and looks cozy. Recommend!

Good, big portions but very slow.... - Edit
We tried to eat here the night before, but they were very busy and they were kind enough to warn us there would be a long wait. The second day, only a couple of other tables were in, so we gave it a go. I appreciate they probably make everything fresh to order but honestly I’ve had better green curries and it took 1.5hours!! I also asked for no mushrooms and it came chock full of huge mushrooms. The woman there also kept telling us off for bringing our own drinks... when we hadn’t? My meal cost 120THB.

Incredible good! - Edit
A lovely family own this restaurant and they cook traditional Thai food. They use a lot of different vegetables and serve big portions. Careful, don't order too much. You won't be able to eat everything, but you want too, because it's so good.

The place is fantastic! 🌱 - Edit
We are on Koh Mook and stay at Sivalai Beach Resort, but a quick taxi to Hilltop is worth the ride (100 B for taxi). Since we are here now during low season, they are relaxed. Both me and my girlfriend are vegan, so we gave it a try. Just have a look at the menu, but we told the super friendly woman running the place about our needs. "gin jae" translates to I eat vegan btw. The taste of the food is fantastic, and she is sharing how she is cooking your meal and they have many of the vegetables in the backyard. They did even bring us back to look and taste. When you go there, take the time for an experience. This is not fast or rushed food, this is created with heart and soul.
Read morePros: Many dishes of the menu based on the needs , Fantastic location and rustic garden , Much food for low price
Cons: I live in Norway, kind a long way back

Glad to have found Hilltop - Edit
Delicious Thai food, friendly people, what more could one ask for? Just make sure to use your mosquito repellent at night.

Disappointed - Edit
I came here with my parents hoping to get a decent vegan meal. I ordered the cashew nut dish with tofu instead of meat. What came out was a plate of greasy vegetables and cold rice. It took over an hour to come out and even though the owner apologised to my mum for the mistake no refund or replacement was offered.

Lovely local place near Charlie Beach - Edit
Lovely restaurant - owner (Mrs Song who is quite a character!) speaks excellent English and knows what vegan is - we ordered the spring rolls, masaman curry and stir fried basil vegetables - the portions were huge! We were defeated! But incredible value for money for home cooked Thai food.
