Serves fish, vegan options available. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor above a shop that sells brown rices, veggies, and organic foodstuff. Reported menu became all-veg (Feb 2016). Offers an array of choices, such as bean burgers and curry. Uses local produce and has sugar-free desserts. Last order is 1 hour before closing. Open Mon-Sun 11:30am-6:00pm.

Close to a beautiful park lies a creative cafe - Edit
We had some of the rice sandwiches that were still available (most of the menu was sold uit), but what they did have was full of several tasty ingredients.
Read moreThe menu is not in English, and the staff doesn't really speak English either, so a little bit of knowledge of Japanse helps. The sandwiches are also on display, so just ordering from there is good as well. We mostly had a hard time understanding about the set menu options, what was available and how it worked.
In the end we had two sandwiches and a rice coffee. Don't go for the rice coffee. It's not good. It smells like burned rice (duh) and doesn't really taste like anything.
Other than that, a nice experience, especially combined with a stroll in the nearby park

I loved the rice sandwiches, but not all of them are vegan - Edit
This shop is currently listed as vegetarian on Happy Cow, but beware that some items contain fish. The miso soup has fish dashi in it, and they said they cannot make it vegan. Some of the rice sandwiches also contain fish, so be sure to ASK (not everything is labeled clearly). The desserts and salads all appeared to be vegan.
Read moreI chose 2 kinds of rice sandwiches and a dessert. The rice sandwiches were VERY tasty - definitely recommend! The dessert was good, but I've had better.
My husband got the C Set which came with one rice sandwich, soup, and pickles. The soup was a carrot soup which we confirmed to be vegan. It was alright, but not our favorite.
The upstairs eating space is cozy and there is a shop space downstairs (where you order) that has some vegan items to go as well. We didn't spend a lot of time here though as we had places to go after this.
Pros: Delicious Rice Sandwiches, Cozy eating space
Cons: non-vegan items are not always labeled, ASK

Clearly marked tasty vegan options, relaxing atmosphere - Edit
Vegan options are now clearly marked behind the glass. I had 4 of the rice sandwiches and all were tasty. Lots of big comfy seats upstairs. I can see myself chilling here for hours.

Rice sandwiches and desserts - Edit
Rice sandwiches. 5/10 vegan. Had curry sandwich and Yuzu-Gobo sandwich. Both yummy. Deserts and bakery goods are all vegan. They don't use dairy or egg, but use fish/seafood.

turned away - Edit
I went to Hokkaido shortly after their earthquake of September 2018, and was attempting to eat at Hibino in October after they had suffered two typhoons. It is not easy to find, and after a tram ride and a 20 minute walk, arrived at their 1st floor store at 5:15 pm, hoping that we could be seated and eat whatever was available, but the young man would not allow us to go upstairs to the restaurant to plead our case (my friend speaks a little Japanese). Unbelieving, I pointed to my watch - only 15 minutes late! No. Turned away. So much for being welcomed!
Read moreCons: not allowed to be seated, Happy Cow will not allow me to give 1 star., I want to give zero stars. So upset.

You probably arrived after last order. It’s entitled and wrong of you to expect to be seated after admitting you were late.

Macrobiotic with great vegan desserts - Edit
In the summer of 2018 they only had a rice buffet (no burgers or curry) and it is macrobiotic, so there is some fish. Most of the food had a tag in English but vegan or not was not always clear. It was hard to understand what the 3 possible options for the buffet were and how it worked without English menu. The staff knew little English but they really tried and were very patient. There is wifi so before going to the counter I recommand connecting to have some Google translate. They expected you to pour some sort of gazpacho and cold tea over the rice, which was pretty weird for Japan. Thirth pouring option contained fish. Not so much buffet choices, food was simple but OK. Very interesting peanut tofu, though. What made it worth coming here were the desserts and ginger ale: really delicous! (And certainly vegan, was clearly indicated on the menu in Japanese - thanks, Google translate.)

Amazing bao! - Edit
My husband and I shared 3 different types of bao and all 3 were absolutely delicious! We had the pumpkin & coconut, cabbage, and bean & vegetable. Could not fault any of them but if I had to pick a favourite, it would have to be the bean & vegetable.

Large, relaxing space - Edit
Although this cafe is perhaps a little out of the way for tourists, it is a great retreat with an open natural atmosphere, taking up the entire 2F of a building. Food options were a little limited, but what I got (curry set) was quite tasty. Served with your choice of drink, it is quite good value as well. Staff were very friendly

Nice area with some delicious dishes - Edit
The staff were very helpful, telling me which dishes were vegan and catered for my peanut allergy. I had a set lunch meal for 1450 yen (A little pricey compared to other great places I visited that included a dessert in the price) that consisted of a lovely salad, some pickled vegetables, rice and some delicious spring rolls. I would definitely visit again and try the other dishes :-)

Really delicious, All Veggie - Edit
They have a choice of different set menus with rice, soup, and salad. Don't be fooled by the photos--the portions are more generous than they seem. I'd say really great food for this price. The cake is wonderful too. Interiors are very cozy.

DOES NOT SERVE MEAT AT ALL!! - Edit
Not far from the #2 exit of Horohirabashi subway exit, is this gem of a vegetarian restaurant! It's a bit hard to find as the entrance is on the street level of an apt. building kind of in the back! Anyway, the food was amazing and you receive a large tray with the entree of your choice and a drink and salad and appetizer. Downstairs is a lovely gift shop with local organic products that are uncommon. They had hybrid beans (many) that I'd never seen in my life. The salad dressing was amazing and they even gave me a printout of the recipe!

Vegetarian options galore - Edit
This is my favorite place to eat out in Sapporo because there are plenty of vegetarian dishes on the menu and the food is so good. The cafe is very close to Horohirabashi station at the end of Nakajima park. They are great for lunch, afternoon tea time and dinner. They are also good for events such as birthday dinners with friends, and will adapt the menu to your needs if you make a booking in advance.
