Salad Alterations

Have been here twice and the seed burger is not currently on the menu. There are a few salads you can ask to veganize, and a roasted garlic/toast appetizer. It's nice that they know what "vegan" means, so not necessarily to list everything.

Pros: Butternut squash salad, Roast garlic tartine appetizer

Cons: Limited options

Salad

I usually get the butternut squash salad, I think this place is a little overpriced for what you get but it has a nice atmosphere. There are other veggie options as well.

Great stop on the way to Tahoe

The nut burger is limited to the lunch menu which stops at 5:00 on Sunday. We were not disappointed because there were other possibilities and the waiter was willing to check on modifications.

Pros: COVID sensitive service, Outdoor seating, Fabulous brown sugar Apple cider vinagarette

Cons: $$, No vegan soup option, Too little Thai peanut sauce

Vegan Burger

Was in town visiting Apple Hill. Went to Hey Day cafe, they had a vegetarian seed burger- made vegan by opting out of the cheese and aioli. Add avocado I highly recommend with the mustard Dijon. Server had a vegan red pepper almond based sauce available and added that.

Late Lunch in Placerville

While traveling, I stopped in Placerville to look for lunch. The restaurant that served nut burgers that I like was closed permanently, but I found Heyday Café. Luckily, the restaurant served a vegetarian seed burger that could be made vegan. The server on the phone suggested changing the bun to a ciabatta roll and seemed knowledgeable about the menu and vegan diet. The seed burger was a bit dry, so next time I'd add avocado. The server said I could also order barbecue sauce. (Of course, I'd want to check the type of sweetener used in the sauce, if there is any.)

Most of the places in Placerville that are listed in Happy Cow close early on Sunday, so it was nice to find a restaurant that was open until 8 PM. I enjoyed the lentil-seed burger and would order it again.

Pros: Central location, Why not have seed burger vegan by default?

Cons: Would like to see an interesting vegan dessert.
