Huge! - Edit
My friend and I preordered a plain giant croissant (£20) and it was huge. And super delicious! Very flaky and buttery and we ate the whole thing. The bakery was cute and the staff super friendly

Lovely for a treat - Edit
Amazing pastries and brunch/lunch bits with a good variety of hot drinks. It is very expensive so I prefer it for an occasional treat rather than somewhere to go regularly. The price issue is also made worse by the fact that the price of the pastries isn’t listed anywhere so you don’t know what you’re paying until you get to the till. Overall though highly recommend!

Good food, good coffee - Edit
My go to place when I’m in need of a sweet treat and coffee. Staff are always super lovely and friendly. They put a great deal of effort into making amazing vegan pastries and they ARE amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough. Small place so I don’t always sit in but fab nonetheless.

Little brunch choices - Edit
The place is small, fairly clean. However, we were left eating with other people's cups on our table. The selection of vegan pastries is on point however they don't offer much for brunch. They have a very sad bagel which looks like it is stuffed with mostly leaves and avocado toast. My partner had the avo toast which was loaded with onions so not the best. I ordered two pastries which were nice.
Read moreThe place does not look particularly stocked. They didn't have orange juices nor san pellegrino cans so I didn't order to drink. My partner had coffee and said it was nice.
Pros: Pastries are very good
Cons: No prices displayed for the pastries, Not ideal for brunch, Poor customer service

Might never get over how good this pain au chocolat was - everything was incredible but the pastry was something else. Will 100% be going back every time I’m in Edinburgh

Good food but limited availability - Edit
Vegan yoghurt was empty (?) and they couldn’t prepare the granola anymore (or just with a non vegan greek yoghurt in a full vegan cafe?!)

Great home made croissants - Edit
Small cosy cafe, with possibly to eat inside. Their special croissants are so good! I had the pistachio croissants and a kebab bagel for brunch with a lavender latte. They have several plant milks. I totally recommend this place!

Amazing brunch spot - Edit
Visited yesterday for Brunch after an early morning flight into Edinburgh. A huge range of fully vegan pastries all with interesting flavours. I had a cheese twist pastry with bacon bits and also a lemon meringue cronut. We had a bagel as well which was delicious. Staff were also lovely and the coffee was great.

Spectacular toasties here - Edit
We went here for brunch and both got toasties which were super tasty and very filling. The coffee was also delicious and the staff was very friendly. All pastries are vegan. Only their granola used diary yoghurt.

Great food and coffee - Edit
It’s a cute wee place with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a changing menu of sandwiches/toasties and a couple of brunch items like granola/French toast. They always have loads of baked goods including some incredible pastries that are always so creative in flavour and variety. The coffee is super nice also. I visit here as often as I can, just wish I could go everyday!

Bien para tapeo - Edit
El local es pequeño pero acogedor. No tienen demasiadas opciones en la carta pero lo que tienen está muy rico. No esperes un plato elaborado, es más para desayunos o para comer/cenar un sándwich y comida por el estilo.

Nice but not keen on slogan - Edit
This place would be a 4 if it was not for their attitude towards vegans. Their slogan is "be imperfectly vegan" and the name "Plant Bae" suggests that it'd all be plant-based, but it's a vegetarian place serving eggs and dairy. Would just be better if they either branded themselves as veggie or made the commitment to being fully vegan. It's a nice wee place with friendly staff who made sure we always had water, there's a day menu and one after 5pm. Went for brunch but I need to go back and try it in the evening. They serve alcohol including cocktails!

Good cafe - Edit
The place is nice, ideal for breakfast or lunch. The waffles and the scrambled tofu are really good. The cookies are amazing (if you get one for take away, put it a few minutes in the oven before having it) and they have several other sweet treats. I'll definitely go back. It's just a shame they are not fully vegan.

Tempting cake and brunch! - Edit
Plant Bae has moved to a new location on Easter Road. It's a wee bit smaller than its old location in Haymarket and its menu is a bit smaller too, but it still has crowdpleasers such as waffles and avocado on toast. It also has a bakery counter bursting with tempting cakes, cookies and traybakes. I got a cookie for Mr B and he thought it was delicious!

Lovely food, would be better if it was fully vegan! - Edit
Had the avo on toast and tofu scramble which was delicious, really enjoyed it and it was on of the best breakfasts I’ve had. Lovey interior and service was very friendly too. Shame it’s not all vegan which seemed to cause a bit of confusion with other customers - would be so easy to go fully vegan.

Yummy waffles - Edit
Went here for brunch, mostly vegan selection. Since re-opening as PlantBae no longer serves meat. I had the biscoff waffles, which looked and tasted great. I also tried a milkshake and a raw snickers cake which were also delicious.

Avo Toast to die for - Edit
A tiny cafe but very central near Haymarket station and Princes street. Very small so not always space to eat but one that I go to often with non-vegan friends. They do the most incredible avocado toast and selection of healthy smoothies. Once had the vegan box though which was a mistake - bland and uninspiring.

Disappointing - Edit
I was delighted to see there was a vegan cafe listed on Happy Cow close to Haymarket train station. It was early morning so thought I’d enjoy a leisurely breakfast before my day started. I was disappointed at the lack of choice from the breakfast menu. The cafe was fairly empty but it gave the impression the service would be slow so I just ordered an almond milk latte which was lukewarm and not too enjoyable. I would return to try one of the cakes but disappointed there wasn’t more of a choice for breakfast.

Didn't get me excited at all - Edit
Grams is a cosy little place close to Haymarket train station. There's space for about 10 people. Decor is basic but pleasant enough.
Read moreThe service from the get go wasn't fantastic. The young lady serving could have cracked a smile at least.
There aren't a huge amount of vegan options but I was in the mood for a salad, so thought I'd try the beet salad offering.
There was a decent wait of about 15 minutes and when it finally came out, I was impressed with the way it looked. I couldn't wait to start eating it.
However, I was massively disappointed by the lack of substance and structure to the flavour. It was very banal and didn't do anything for me. On the plus side, it was healthy and a decent sized portion.
I expected much more, so don't think there's much to motivate me to return.
