Not For "Strict" Vegans - Edit
Disappointing! Been looking forward to this place opening after seeing the construction take shape over the past five months. Finally, the kitchen is running. Arrived and was offered a set meal. Asked the Thai host if he was the owner-- nope, but he's right there!
Read moreWalked over to introduce myself and asked how long he'd been vegan. Fifteen years. How about that! A vegan place on fake hippie donkey island run by an actual vegan! What a relief. And then-- "But I'm not a *strict* vegan anymore, I eat fish now."
Well, here I go, smacking knuckles and paddling bottoms for folks not doing their homework like a mean old strict vegan!
If you consume animal corpses you are not mostly vegan or even partially vegan you are zero vegan. A behavior like this is strict, beyond strict, it's merciless and unforgiving and crossing your path may subject you to the death penalty for the crime of being born another species.
If not a "strict" vegan, while calling yourself vegan, the only thing free and easy about you is your relationship with the truth and your willingness to impose death on strangers with impunity.
Oh how permissive and laid back of you! Allowing yourself the freedom to casually order the murder of Actinopterygii with your loosey-lou views of who should die and sacrifice their entire lives for your momentary taste pleasure!
Food was underwhelming and if you're looking to support local Thai business owners or authentic vegans or especially local Thai authentic vegan business owners, this is not the place. But if you like others fronting on Veganism and congratulating themselves for having the flexibility to kill animals whenever they feel like it, this is your place!
Veganism is for the animals, strictly.

The owner is a bloody joke. He sounds more like a “flexitarian” (actual definition by me: a meat eater who is willing to try plant-based food).

I'm so exhausted by all the lying meat eaters calling themselves vegan that I couldn't find the energy to encourage him. I started, but when I was staring into those vapid, fish-eating eyes of animal abusing human supremacy, I just said, "oh forget it" turned around and walked out. Tired of being nice to these ex-vegans. Oh you tried and failed to do the one easy thing to protect animals by not eating them but still lying and calling yourself vegan? Good grief, grow up. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

I don’t even know how anyone has the energy to speak to them. I’m pretty sick and tired of them too.
