We were fortunate to go when the vegetarian waitress was in work. She understood our vegan requirements. The owner stood by the table confirming the ingredients of each item we queried.

It turned out that there was chicken powder in the vegetarian Chinese curry and shrimp powder in the vegetarian Thai red curry. Various other items also marked vegetarian on the menu were also not vegetarian.

Really tasty vegan options are available but do not trust the vegetarian flags on the menu - be explicit about what you don't eat.
