Many better burger options out there

We got a burger each and chips to share and we both left feeling hungry. The burgers are small (thin patties) and quite plain, and the chips were pitiful (though they did taste nice).

The prices are way too high for what you get, but you're paying for them to be in an excessively large premises in a prime location.

They should also not use packaging for dine in customers if they are as serious about their environmental commitment as they say they are.

There are so many better all vegan burger joints out there where you leave feeling full and satisfied.

Pros: The staff were nice, Nice decor (but water your plants!)

Cons: Small portions, No package free options for eat in, Worst 'southern fried' chicken pattie

Again, well done killing a vegan restaurant with your petty qualms. Seriously every vegan restaurant should be 5 stars. A vegan restaurant means this world is a kinder more compassionate world... why be critical of that. If you have genuine grievance give your feedback directly to the owner or manager!

I can’t imagine how difficult it is running a business and I know businesses fail for a variety of reasons. I hate to see any vegan business close. However, perhaps if the owners of Henry’s had acted on some of the constructive criticism they received on Happy Cow they may have been more likely to survive.

$1 ‘wings’ on Wednesday!

I’ve had this delivered before but finally went in to the store last night - it was delicious, the wings are really crunchy and tasty. I got the chilly burger is was yum, defo one of my favourite vegan burgers in Melbourne. Chips were also pretty good to, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Pros: $1 wings on Wednesday, Amazing Pattie , Cool drinks selection

Expensive and unfriendly staff

Very unfriendly staff, burgers were small and too expensive for what they were. Also they had closed upstairs and we could only sit on the table along the window. There were plants growing over the table and we had hardly any space to put our food. All in all not a great experience.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Expensive , Unfriendly staff , Bad seating

Great food in prime location

I hadn’t been here before and so I thought I’d try it as it’s so close to where I’m working and the pricing is decent. It’s in a really nice area and the venue is really cool.

Pros: Lots of options, Tasty food

Cons: Only one shop

Average

I had the original burger and fries.
The burger was okay, but small and quite pricey at $14.The chips were tasty enough.
The whole meal which included an apple cider came to $28.50.
This may have been okay if I left feeling full, but I had to go elsewhere straight after to fill up.
I suggest Green Burger for taste and value is a better option.

Pros: All vegan , Appeared clean

Cons: Excessive pricing , Small servings

Absolutely pathetic criticism. So you need to eat more than your average human. If you are such a glutinous human how about you try meat?

I can’t understand your uncalled for angry and outright nasty comment. Are you the owner of this failed venture?

Great Burger Place

This is a neat licenced dinner, selling a good selection of burgers with a strong ethical and ecological premise.

They've two faux meat patties, beef style and chicken style, along with a lentil patty.

Some of the burgers can be gluten-free.

Nice fries, nuggets and soft serve too.

It's not health food, but if you feel like a burger I think it's the best option around for vegans.

Pros: 100% plant based menu, All waste is either compostable or recyclable., Just an all round good vibe.

Cons: A bit hard to see from the main street

Best vegan burger joint

Really enjoyed our time here. I liked that the burgers weren't massive and everything falls out. Good serving size. We enjoyed nuggets, fries, onion rings and 2 different burgers. Would come back again when craving burgers and fries.

Pros: Decent menu size , Burger to suit everyone, burgers good size, Different dipping auces to have with meal

Unreal burgers!!

My partner and I had a feast here (a burger each plus we shared the disco fries and onion rings). It was freaking amazing! The “beef” pattie on the burger was so realistic and the milkshakes were delicious. We were the only ones in the store at the time and our order came out within 5 mins! We definitely recommend if you are craving junk American style vegan food.

Pros: Entirely vegan, Junk American style food (if you are into that)

greenwashing and wasteful

The burgers aren't bad, however everything comes in single use packaging, even if it's for eat in. They claim that all packaging is compostable, however this still has a huge impact on the environment that goes against the emphasis on ethical living they have made in the store. Incredibly disapointing. Just shows that they are not well researched, and are greenwashing their customers rather than actually caring for the earth.

Vegan fast food

This place is new, offers vegan fast food - burgers and chips. Also soft serve but we didn’t try that. A few burgers to choose from. The patties were nice - not sure if house made or not. The buns etc all a bit fast foody so you’d have to be in the mood for that as it’s not healthy at all. Liked the chips and sauce, they have vegan ranch which is nice. Unfortunately staff either overcharged us or got the order wrong which was a bit annoying. the place had a cool fast food layout but it was empty when we went.

Great burgers

Small menu but good quality and great tasting. I would prefer to have sauce in a small dish as opposed to a plastic container.

Pros: Nice modern space , Tasty

Cons: Quite expensive, A bit too much single use packaging

Nice space but limited menu

This space is huge and I like how bright it is and the seating configurations. We ordered a burger each and the nuggets. The burger was tasty and ready quite quickly. We also had the ice cream with funnycomb and chocolate topping. They were nice in the restaurant. I did feel that with only 4 burgers on the menu, it is a bit limited. I feel that for such a big place, they will need more options on the menu.

That’s a strange question. I’m curious as you seem to be making comments on anyone who gave this place 3 stars. Why, what is your connection to the business? I haven’t been to McDonalds for about 30 years. I feel bad when vegan businesses close down but It wasn’t my favourite place for burgers. I don’t think going on happy cow and attacking people is a very nice thing to do.

Competition for the Lord

The original burger patty is very good, but the over all size of the burger is on the small side for $14. The Chicken'd out was less enjoyable mostly due to the mayo. The fries were nicely cooked and well seasoned. I think the homemade lemonade will be a little too sour for most.

I hope this eatery develops and is well supported by the vegan community.

PotatoesTho

I'm just not that powerful, Andre. A handful of reviews on an app many Melbourne vegans are not even aware of nor use does not kill a business. There was a good deal of positivity among the constructive criticism above, but if the business owner was not prepared to make necessary changes as all new eateries must if they are to survive, nothing was going to save it. The building itself historically has a very low retention rate; the space is just too big for a fledgling business.
