Lovely lunch

Went here for my birthday, ordered the pate from nibbles, mushroom scallop starter & haggis main. Was so filling. Everything tasted great. I would say the fake black pudding doesn’t taste like other fake black pudding I’ve had but was nice. The carrot cake dessert is served chilled more of a dessert than a cake. Might be nice if served at room temperature. I definitely want to go back to try their festive menu. Service was exceptional. Very enjoyable visit.

Pros: Service quality , Food presentation , Restaurant setting

Beau-T-ful

Me and my partner went for a last minute dinner at Hendersons. We were sat at the front of the restaurant but it was so
Cosy, beautifully decorated and full of lovely staff. We ordered mains and shared both of our dishes - who knew vegetables could be packed full of so much flavour? We had about 3/4 cocktails each and were trying different ones each time. The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive to us as guests, i can’t recommend this place enough!! We will be returning as soon as we can! Book a table and check this place out

Pros: The menu, decor, Cocktails

Fully vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options

Cocktails great, food very tasty. At starter and main nearly everything I'd vegan less so at dessert sadly.

Would go back

My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary and the food was lovely. Some things were bit different to what we would normally have, but what we ordered was really good. The staff are lovely, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

Lovely Food & nice location

We went for dinner on a sunday and loved everything. We had the black pudding/mushrooms and bread with dips for a starter and a Sunday Roast and the Haggis for mains. The food was very, very good and the atmosphere makes for a nice dining experience. Would 10/10 recommend!

Pros: Creative food, Traditional dishes veganized, great location for a nicer dinner

Cons: higher prices, but def worth it!

Fantastic food and service

Food was just delicious! We had the nibbles platter to share (olives, pate, hummous, nuts, breads, vegan butter) all lovely. This was followed by vegan haggis and my friend had the mix of salads as her main. The food was so good! And the service was just as good, so friendly and helpful. If I lived in Edinburgh I'd eat here all the time!

Fresh and innovative

Food was sensational, can't fault it! I had the butter bean pate and oyster mushroom scallops. Delicious and inventive flavours you don't find on your everyday menu.

This is more of a fine dining menu so portions are small and prices are on the higher side. If you've got money to spend then you won't leave hungry but I needed a snack when I got home..! Staff are friendly and attentive.

Pros: Great staff , Fast service

Cons: High prices for portion size

Excellent meal out.

Very good venue, wonderful food and friendly, attentive staff. This place now has more vegan options, all of which were excellent. The haggis, which other reviews have raved about, was the only thing I thought a bit bland.

The music, which was varied but contains much beat-ridden noodling, could have been turned down a notch.

Some reviews of Bann's have said that Henderson's is much better. IMO they are both equally fantastic places for vegans to eat with their own distinct styles of preparation. Edinburgh deserves them both.

Pros: Food, Staff

Cons: Turn the music down (a bit)

Surprising and delicious

I feel you can’t really imagine how the plates are gonna be when reading the menu. I was happily surprised when I got what I ordered. The food was really good, especially the Biscoff Cheesecake. We ordered to share and it was a mistake because of how good it was.

Pros: Amazing cheesecake

Cons: Mac n cheese are only for lunch

Fresh ingredients taste great!

Many of the dishes can be made vegan. We enjoyed the haggis and celeriac mains. The soup of the day was squash soup and it was amazing. Delicious food for plant-based meals!

Pros: Server was outstanding , Food was amazing, Breads & hummuses were excellent

We had the mushroom soup which was amazing with a nice tarragon flavoring. Also the mushroom scallops, the cauliflower bites, and the caponata. All was delicious.

Vegan haggis

Heerlijk vegan gegeten. Haggis was wel een top gerecht op het menu! Maar andere gerechten zagen er ook super goed uit. Aanrader om hier te eten! Bediening was top en vriendelijk. Heerlijke cocktails gedronken

Pros: Gerechten , Sfeer, Bediening

Cons: Akoestiek, was wat lawaaierig, Ligt wat verder buiten toeristisch gebied.

Try the Haggis

This was our first big dinner in Scotland and oh my gosh - we were not disappointed. We shared everything and left so satisfied. Haggis was SO good, and i’m still drooling over the biscoff cheesecake. Our server was so kind and answered all of our questions. Book ahead!

I really enjoyed the food here! Well-seasoned, fresh, inspiring, tasty! Definitely recommended!
The portions are rather small though and too bad this restaurant is not fully vegan.

Pros: Great food , Vegan biscoff cheese cake!

Cons: Small-ish portions, Not fully vegan

Went for lunch deal and died for biscoff cheesecake 😋

Nice restaurant a bit off all the tourist attractions a little walk up the hill, but the way was clearly worth it.
We had as lunch deal some very hearty Mac‘n Cheese and from the menu the Vegan Haggis. Both very delicious! Friendly staff was attentive and convinced us to try the Vegan Biscoff Cheesecake… and it was a dream: creamy texture of the cheese but the highlight was the melted biscoff on top.
Overall a bit pricier than a lunch should be, but we think it was clearly worth it.

Pros: Almost everything is vegan , Lots of Mocktails available

Twist on Scottish dishes

We tried the vegetarian version of the Scottish “haggis”. Very nice. The starters were also good but not top notch as the main dish.

Lovely fine dining in Edinburgh

The most amazing place we discovered in Edinburgh! Classy fine dining is just what we needed when we landed. Lovely tasty dishes, wide selection available for vegans and vegetarians. We ordered too much but managed to devour every little bit! Thank you.

Such good food

I had the vegan haggis and we split the special (some sort of crunchy cauliflower thing it was really nice). I've never had normal haggis so I can't tell you how it compares but I really liked it. The cocktails were lovely, had a really good range. Nice vibes too I really liked the feel of the place.

If I lived near this restaurant, I'd go broke

Wow. I had the haggis and I thought I would be similar to the rather tasteless patties I'd had elsewhere in the morning but no this was good enough to inspire poetry. I also got a side of the broccoli and seitan which was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. I can only assume the rest of the menu is as inspiring.
