Cheap and tasty

Vegetarian eatery with vegan options.
I had the deluxe thali (100 rupees) but they replaced the paneer dish with something vegan.
They did serve me up a surprise bowl of lassi (I think that's what it was) but happily took it away when I reminded them I'm vegan. My food was a little cold but otherwise the taste was great.
It's also a good little place to watch the world go by (and the roti being made) and I felt comfortable eating there late in the evening as a solo woman.

5 stars Indian cheap eat

This place is often packed with locals which is a good sign. Fresh chapati is made right in front (but still inside). Food is super cheap, fresh and tasty. Menu in English. Staff is friendly.

Pros: Cheap, Tasty, Good portions, fresh and nice breads

Cons: Can be tricky to get a seat at certain times, Tables could use a wipe

Vegan backpacker

Wow, first Indian experience after arriving late and venturing the city in the middle of the night trying to find our hotel. Best day we went here because it was 2min from hotel and it didn't disappoint. All you can eat 80r. The kid just kept dishing out food, rice and roti. It was a pleasant experience. Do stop by if your here.

Proper thali - simple, inexpensive, and unlimited - this is India

I was quite fed up with many of the veg*n offerings in Delhi - typically overpriced, empty, and dull so I was quite pleased to find this place. It might look a bit rough and ready but I've been travelling in parts of India on a bicycle and I ate in many similar places regularly and trust them more than many of the tourist places as they have a high turnover of local people. The food is simple, relatively inexpensive (80rupess), and unlimited. I've had cheaper but this is pretty good for Delhi. I didn't ask whether it was vegan before hand but all the items seemed vegan to me when they came. Some chickpea dish, a spinach dish, and a dahl, a couple of rotis, and you're away. Highly recommended for an authentic cheap eat.

Pros: Authentic food, Simple, Inexpensive
