Great meals

I live pretty close to the HHCafe, and since the food is good, I eat there maybe once a week in the summer.

The HHC is small and has the feeling of a family-run place. It's clean and has a light atmosphere, but you might notice that the staff can be slow. Sometimes they don't clean tables until a customer comes to sit at one, and their service can be almost painful at times.

However, they serve quality food. They try to buy organic when they can and you can tell that the veggies are always fresh. They make some things in-house, like their tempeh and bean burgers. The hummus wraps are fantastic (always served with some kind of chip) and they usually have at least one veg-friendly special.

They also serve desserts, usually vanilla or chocolate cupcakes. They can be kind of pricey (and sometimes not that good) so they're usually a hit-or-miss.

The HHC will take pick-ups and catering, which I think is pretty cool.

Overall, the food is good, although the service can be slow. But the staff is friendly and willing to double-check ingredients for you. It's certainly a place you might come back to.

Pros: good food, some desserts

Cons: slow service

Sunny Spot in Somers Point

I was visiting family in New Jersey. When discussing dining out, the usual options came up: pizza, burgers, and seafood restaurants. I checked out Happy Cow and found this gem. They have vegan and veggie options as well as healthy omnivore choices, so I was able to get what I wanted and my family could still get their standard american fare. Amazing vegan and vegetarian desserts made on premise.

Pros: Friendly owner and staff, Amazing vegan desserts, Bright and clean

Cons: small dining area
