Aptly named

Excellent facility with very pleasant, friendly and obliging staff and good menu choices. Went with meat eater who also enjoyed food. Visited on first arriving in Glasgow, tried others then went back. Definitely the best choice.

Pros: excellent food, pleasant environment, friendly staff

Cons: closed Monday

good food

Lunchtime specials, GBP4.95, soup & sandwich, sandwich & chips, burger & a beer. I had a kale and seitan hotpot with mashed sweet potatoes, 7.95 - very tasty. Breakfast (I had it takeaway) was sausage, soy rasher, potato patty, scrambled tofu, tomato.
See website for full menu; it changes with the seasons.
Open noon till midnight (now not Mondays).

Pros: good food, good value

Does what it says on the tin

There are plenty of places to eat in Glasgow if you're a vegetarian or vegan, but this was one of the first I ate in. Truly delicious food; very homely. Really generous portion sizes and very friendly staff. There was a great vibe in the place as well.

Pros: Good Atmosphere, Friendly Staff, Generous Servings

Heavenly is indeed heavenly

A most excellent menu with knowledgeable and friendly staff, delicious options and gorgeous coffee. A range of soft and alcoholic drinks are available, there are music events in the evening and community notice boards to display items of note going on nearby. You can pop in for cake and coffee, or go for dinner! A good people watching place too, big windows at the front and cosy booths inside.

Pros: good value, changing menu, vegan friendly

Cons: veggie breakfast only at weekends

Truly Heavenly!

This is an excellent place. As at July 2011 it's been open a few weeks and I've been twice, and have booked another 2 vists already! First time I had stuffed peppers, second time I had stuffed courgettes. OK, sounds a bit similar, but they were both very different dishes, and the courgette in particular was delicious. My boyfriend had the vegan breakfast and while I don't normally eat things like that as I think fake meat is a bit strange, I tried a few wee bits and it was the best vegan breakfast of that type I've ever nibbled. Oh yes, and the puddings - wow! I can't wait to try them all! We had some sort of chocolate bombe thing and it was amazing.

They are changing their menus while they get established, but their new menu looks fantastic. It's very extensive - soups and sandwiches, but then also some lovely salads, and proper main courses, along the lines of what I've mentioned above. From what I can tell so far, they have mains that might change, then also some 'classics' - the one that sticks in my head is spaghetti bolognaise. If I'm totally honest, I would like to see fewer soya based dishes, as I'm not keen on the stuff, I prefer just vegetable based dishes, but that's just me, and I'm very happy overall with the choice on offer at Heavenly.

The venue itself is smashing, it's lovely and clean, not err... 'crusty' like a lot of the vegan places you tend to find. It's like a normal upmarket bar, with nice wooden floors, and fresh decor. And the employees are lovely too.

OK, I'm going to use this line in a review before anyone else does - for a vegan in Glasgow, Heavenly really does live up to its name.

Pros: Excellent food, Lovely environment, Friendly staff

Heavenly

I visited here about 10 days after they opened and was impressed. A city centre cafe bar with a good food, a calm & friendly atmosphere and free wifi (ask for the password). I had a main course and a juice for less than £10.

Pros: Good value, atmosphere, location
