Brilliant meditation retreat with wonderful home cooked food - Edit
This retreat is run by Maddie, who as well as being an amazing guide on the retreat, is also an extremely good cook!
I went on the Deep Heart Retreat, which was Saturday to Thursday with option to stay another night for a small fee.
The base and accomodation is a rental house with a lovely garden and stunning sea views. Maddie also has the Rose Sanctuary nearby.
The schedule included two group sessions per day starting on the Sunday morning and ending with the last session Thursday morning.
There was one indoor session per day, and one in the Sanctuary.
Maddie took us through simple meditation techniques and shared tips for living in the moment with compassion. I don't want to go into too much detail as everyone has their own journey, but in summary, really really good.
All meals and healthy snacks and hot drinks are included. Breakfast is self serve cereals, toast etc, plus Maddie's home made delicious granola, yoghurts and fruit. Lunch was either home made soup or baked potatoes with fresh bread and fresh salad etc. Dinners were e.g. Shepherdess lentil pie, greens and side salad. Light pudding after dinner.
There are outdoor sessions which involve some low level exertion, and the guest house and Rose Sanctuary do have some steps.
I highly recommend this retreat to relax and recharge, and find a bit of space for self.

Pros: Really lovely food, Kind and knowledgeable host, Collection from train station
Cons: Couldn't stay forever, Didn't know about it sooner, Might be a while before I can go again!
