Delicious Ethiopean food

I am so so happy that there finally is an Ethiopean restaurant in Groningen, as I love their cuisine so much. Hdmona Habesha certainly meets my expectations. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo, but we got a beautiful mixed plate with 6 vegan dishes and injeera. We also had the sambusas for starters, which are really nice. The food was delicious and the waitress very friendly. If possible I would give it 3.5 stars, which would be higher if they would serve vegan desserts. Keep on asking ;-)

Pros: Authentic food, Unique cuisine in Groningen , Well priced

Cons: No vegan desserts

Pretty good Ethiopian food

For only 12 euros you can get a vegan mix plate with all types of tasty dips that go really well with the traditional injera (Ethiopian pancake). I have to say that I have had better Ethiopian food in the Netherlands with the stews being somewhat more complex in flavour at other places but I will make sure to give this restaurant another try as I do really love the cuisine and it is very cheap! The ambiance could have been a little better. There was no music and with us being the only guests at the time it felt somewhat empty.

Pros: Ethiopian food in Groningen!, Friendly staff

Cons: Flavours could have been a little bit more complex, Ambiance could be improved.

Very tasty Ethiopean & Eritrean food

I was very happy to find an Ethiopean/Eritrean restaurant in Groningen. There are 5 vegan dishes on the menu, like for example spinach stew and chickpea tomato dahl stew. All the dishes are served with injera. You can also have a plate (big injera) with smaller portions of all the vegan dishes with injera. There is also Eritrean and Ethiopean beer and coffee available. Staff is friendly and helpfull and understands what vegan means.
