Get involved!

This is the best place to go in Mainz, but it is not a vegan restaurant. Go here at 12pm for lunch, get to know nice people and help Mainusch survive (things are not looking great at the moment, but as long as people care for Haus Mainusch, there will be a way for it to survive)

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Anarchyyy

Haus Mainusch isn't a cafe or restaurant, it is hardly a house. Yet they have professional equipment and to my best knowledge get vegetables from supermarket containers as a protest for consuption. In warm days people just sit outside in the yard and it feels as if you're in a camp of anarchists. It felt awkward at first, but if you'll leave your political views to yourself, you'll get a cheap dish of the day from a random bowl, which might not bne perfectly clean, but the food will make you forget about it. Also try to be early or you will only get salad.

Pros: cheap, fresh

Cons: not clean, food might be gone if you come late

Good, simple food.

As the only vegan place in Mainz, Haus Mainusch is worth seeking out. It's run by the university's antifa collective, and is next to the main cafeteria on campus. If you aren't familiar with left-wing collectives, don't be put off by it. The people are friendly, the food cheap and plentiful.

Don't forget to wash your plate after you eat!

Pros: Cheap, good food., Friendly people., Good politics.
