Delicious food - huge vegan selection - Edit
It was so good I visited twice in a row. I took the all you can eat buffet for 59 CHF which was quite expensive but the food was great and I am still full now the next day!

Incredible - Edit
Absolutely out of this world delicious. I was surprised at just how many vegan options were available. Certainly on the pricey side, but well worth it. Enjoyed various roasted vegetables, couscous, and vegan meatballs. The dessert selection was impressive as well. Wonderful!

Big variety and delicious food - Edit
Had a big plate of everything I could fit on my plate 😄. Really good and delicious food. Everything is perfectly labelled as vegan or vegetarian. Also great selection of dessert. The only negative point is, it’s a bit pricey for regular food.

Unique dining experience - Edit
The buffet is really big with loads of things to choose from. Vegan options are labeled as vegan. The food tasted good but could've been better. You pay per gram so be careful how much food you take - it's expensive!

Buffet in Vollendung - Edit

I think their 'secret plan' is to be fully vegan in the future, as I see more and more of their vegetarian dishes turning vegan.

So many options! - Edit
A little expensive but so worth it just for the variety of food. I had never seen a buffet with so many vegan options before. Some things contain dairy or eggs but everything is clearly labeled, including allergens.

A must-visit that should be better - Edit
For being the world’s supposed oldest veg restaurant, I really wish they’d do more. The food is generally great, but it’s just missing that it-factor that you’d expect from a place with such a claim to its name.

OG vegetarian food - Edit
Summary: expensive, lots of food but almost 50% contains eggs or milk, decent food
Read moreFor being the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world, I’d expect more. The food isn’t especially innovative or exciting, and I’m sad to see they still use so many animal products. It’s 4.5 CHF per 100g of food from the buffet, or 30-40 CHF for a basic curry or burger off the menu.

Brilliant vegetarian buffet - Edit
Hiltl has a wonderful selection of vegetarian dishes and an elegant, edging on luxurious, atmosphere and design. Even though I just tried a little bit of the most attractive dishes, it was more than enough for my belly. Well, it was also more than enough for my wallet. 100 grams costs 5.3 francs. Just the appetizer costed me 33 francs because it was so fascinating and I ate so much even though it was just a little bit of everything.
