Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers vegan fish & chips (fried aubergine instead of fish). Accepts cash. Please note that many businesses in Sweden are cashless.
Closed on Mon & Tue.
Having walked past this little shop many times and admired the sign advertising vegan fish & chips, I popped in for dinner.
In short: Great vegan fish (vish?), outstanding batter. Tasty sauce.
The chips? Look, perhaps I just lived in the UK too long, but fish needs proper fat chips. None of this skinny fries malarkey for me. Sure, it's a matter of personal taste. As is, undoubtedly, the pile of red onions. The latter is a current Swedish obsession. Red onions on everything. Trust me, I can't wait for this fad to pass.
On a more practical note: These folks need to get bigger plates. Food, like people in the Nordics, needs space.
Overall, though, very tasty. Moretti beer in the fridge, unlike red onions and undersized plates, is a hipstery touch I'm totally fine with.
On a final note: Make sure to specify vegan when ordering the vish & chips, because otherwise you'll get a vegetarian version with a lot of Parmesan sprinkled over everything.
