Pleasant little place w/great food - Edit
Service was friendly and just the right amount of attention. I hate hovering as much as being ignored, they did neither.
Read moreThe food was fresh, flavorful and a little more than I could finish.
I’d be happy to go back and try more things.

Vietnamese, vegan, and in my neighborhood - Edit
I have been driving an hour each way to Orange County for Vietnamese meatless food, working my way through Happy Cow recommendations. Turns out Happy Veggie is a few miles from home and offers a variety of options!
Read moreFor my first visit, I enjoyed the spring rolls and the BBQ vermicelli noodles. The large rolls were well-stuffed with soy shrimp, vermicelli, and greens with a peanut dipping sauce. The noodles came with a generous helping of flavorful mock beef, shredded carrots, peanuts, mint, zucchini, and sprouts. I was able to eat about half with chopsticks but had to resort to a fork to finish. Still need to practice the technique and coordination! Large portions, reasonable prices, and pleasant service.
I expect to come here often. I'll still schlep to OC to try the dozen or more restaurants on the HC list but I'm glad Happy Veggie is so close by. I must have driven by it hundreds of times.

Pleasant surprise. - Edit
When in Torrance you must go to this place. The restaurant is really small and comfy. The staff is super polite and the food couldn't be any better. I've had the Mongolian BBQ and it blew my mind. Seasoning was perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Wow fully vegan Asian menu - Edit
Outstanding and extensive menu. I wanted something light so opted for a tofu salad with nuts. It was also made with fresh mint. Maybe one of the nicest salads I've had in my life! Next time I'm in Redondo I'll be visiting for sure! #Veganuary

A South Bay staple… - Edit
If you’re vegan living in the South Bay, then you’re probably familiar with this place. Their Asian, Vietnamese inspired dishes are delicious and satisfying. Their pho never disappoints. I have also had their veggie egg rolls, golden tofu, lemongrass chicken and curry chicken. I would recommend them all.

Asian Fast Food - Edit
There’s lots of diversity here and quick service. It feels more like fast food if you want something quick that’s Asian. The dumplings didn’t wow my taste buds, and the lemon grass chicken didn’t taste like lemon grass. But the broth from the dumpling soup was yummy. Also the lemon grass chicken tasted like it had too much sauce if you just eat it by itself. Definitely eat it with the rice 😅

Great place. - Edit
First time visiting this area of California and walked into this place seeing the sign. I was happy that it is all vegan and not just an Asian place with options. Delicious food with a wide array of options.

Best Asian vegan food - Edit
I originally wanted to say it’s the best Asian food in the area, but after some thought I decided this place is actually better than many veg places in Asia that serve Asian food. Their soup is what I’d get when I’m homesick, and the other items on the menu are all very tasty and exciting to try (like I’ve never seen another place that has vegan Mongolian chicken!) The staff is also nice, always remembering I want room temperature water and my partner wants iced water.

Vegan Pho - Edit
I love Happy Veggie!!! I've been coming here for about 5 years now and love it every time. It is a small restaurant and they don't seem to have a lot of staff but I usually get take out so the service seems good. My favorites are the Pho and the springs rolls. The Pho is especially nom on those "cold" rainy days. Also the restaurant is 100% Vegan!! Yay!

I love this place, but as others have said, the service isn't the best. However, the food is always yummy! I especially love the "fish" entree to share and make our own rolls, it's fun and very very tasty!

Asian Vegan... that’s about it! - Edit
It’s a push to call this a restaurant... more like a hole in the wall. Absolutely no frills and no fuss as well as no decor and zero ambiance or customer service. We struggled to communicate with the waiter and were disappointed to learn that upon asking for recommendations he had not tried half of the dishes.
Read moreThe food was quite good... Casaval rolls with peanut sauce, veggie dumplings, Mongolian beef broccoli stir fry, chicken pad Thai and a strawberry banana smoothie were all ok but not amazing. Why do they up charge $2 for brown rice? I don’t understand...seems excessive. I always want to support and be positive about vegan establishments as we want them to thrive but at the same time if the movement is to become more mainstream these guys and others need to up their game as I could see how people could leave here feeling very underwhelmed. I have to say that the food once order was received really quickly and they were quite busy on the night. I would give 2.5 ⭐️s if I could...

My Favorite Vegan Restaurant - Edit
Happy Veggie is my home favorite vegan restaurant. It's the restaurant I crave when I'm out on the road exploring all these vegan places on Happy Cow.
Read moreI start off every single meal with the fried tofu no matter what. It's my favorite dish on the menu - I love the crispy pieces of tofu dipped in the lemon pepper salt sauce. Perfect every time.
Everything I've ever had on the menu was good. I love their fish dinner - for an allergic to fish/seafood/shellfish girl, this is the closest I can get to having a 'Vietnamese fish dinner'. It comes with the rice papers and all the veggies. Their soups are rich and flavorful. Their salads are tasty and not the 'same old salad'. Their rolls with the soy shrimp make me extremely happy.

Good food, ok service - Edit
I had the tofu eggplant. It was really nice and a super generous portion for the price. Definitely enough for leftovers!
Read moreThe service was ok. The server was a teenager. She was polite, told me I could sit anywhere and brought me a menu right away. She took my order promptly and the food came pretty quick.
But after that there was no follow up or checking in. I had to call her over to ask for a water refill because she wasn’t looking up from her phone (I think). She did respond to visual cues though - when I put my wallet on the side of the table she came over quickly with the bill.
Also the tables all seemed to have a small bits of food on them. Like they had been washed but whoever did the cleaning always missed a spot.

The Golden Tofu 😍 - Edit
Really good asian infused food. The Golden tofu was nice and crispy. Not to hard and not to soft. Also the sauce that come with the tofu is ever so good.🤤 A Lemon Pepper sauce to be exact. Also got The Pan fried rice noodles which give a good crunchy texture to the dish. Last but not the Broccoli and Chick'in. Bringing back memories of the original broccoli and chicken I use to eat at chinese restaurants in new york. Can't wait to come back.

The fried rice had a fantastic variety of veggies and faux meat. It’s all vegan so no worrying about cross contamination.
